Oof - I'll have to see how it plays, but previously the only advantage Lights had is that they were hard to hit.

Rest in peace light mechs. Especially my Firestarters and shiny new Wolfhounds. I get a gift Resistance II pack from family, and not even a month later PGI is swinging the nerf bat. Volumetric scaling and standardization, my ***. Look at how small the Catapult is now. But no matter what you do to my Inner Sphere mechs, I won't touch the clan mechs (Highlander II-C is technically IS right? Cause it's just a bunch of upgrades on the chassis?)

So I liked my mastered Locust but it wasn't in the class of my Jenner. Couldn't even hold a candle to my Arctic Cheetah. Now.... it may be the best. I think it needs some JJ's...*cackles gleefully*

Panther and Wolfhound need to scaled back. Same height as the catapult, and more than double the size of the Locust now.

Again... I'll point out that the mechs are comparable in size per weight, which is a good thing, and we have yet to play a single minute, and the chicken little guys are running to their safe room sheddin' the tears..... more tissue anyone???

From here, I suggest you guys go get love and sympathy hugs from the Zeus fans, they too are really having a hard time with things. Posted Image

With everyone else here, glad the Raven was barely touched, and really impressed with the even smaller locust bwahaha..

But the rest, especially the wolfhound and panther. OMG PGI why...

To those not grasping why the locust got smaller let's do some math.
The locust is a 20 ton mech.
The Firestarter is a 35 ton mech.
That's 15 tons. That's not much right?
Actually it's a lot. The locust is by tonnage only 57% the weight of the firestarter.
But the firestarter is so big now!!!! Is it?????
Put it next to a cicada, a 40 ton mech.
Mathematically the firestarter should be 87.5% of the scale of the cicada. Not height, total volume. That means if you dropped them in water the space they take up should be proportionall to these metrics.
Balance is something they can easily tweak but this wasn't easy, makes way more sense then eye balling it. I am all for this change and anyone complaining doesn't realize if you make all your favorite mech smaller the game doesn't get better...

Good the moronic "lights op" are satified now.
I can see light que from 7% to 1%... happy now?

You can give awesome quirks on lights but it means NOTHING: if a target is easy to hit, it's dead anyway.

Looks like the Ceetah didn't get touched, soo... Locust/Raven vs. ACH? Poor IS.

At least the Commando wasn't touched. Could be a viable option now... just because of an epicdemic outspread of gigantism in the light segment.

P.S. I regret I activated another month of premium time yesterday before reading this. I'd prefer to wait now, till this get hotfixed or rolled back before playing MWO again.

Just because they used volume as a tool to messure the size of the models doesn't mean they scaled them directly according to that volume. In fact, it's obvious that they didn't as else so would the assault mechs not be as much larger then the light mechs.

What people really needs to do is look at the picture where all the mechs are lined up next to each other, that puts things in a totally diffrent perspective. That some got a lot larger was because they were a lot smaller then they should be before, now they fit in with other mechs of the same size and the diffrent tonnages scales up in a fairly consistent manner.
