I forgive the Locust being smaller than the Atlas relatively. I'd imagine a fusion reactor would weigh more than armour, and an Atlas would have *way* more armour-to-reactor ratio than a Locust.

Amusingly enough, an Atlas stock devotes precisely as much weight to it's engine (19 tons) as armor. MWO adds in gyro weight and such to that, mind you.

A stock Locust is 3:2- 6 ton engine, 4 tons armor.

I would agree if I would have faith that they present a power drain system that would be balanced and working right from the start. Unfortunately I dont believe it will and so I foresee a balancing desaster that will go on for many many months.

Unfortunately, we have no choice in the matter, one way or another. Change is coming. Considering it could be both great or terrible, I prefer to be cautiously optimistic. After all, being mopey, whiny, and negative won't keep it from coming nor will it make my mood any better. We will deal with it when it happens.

Seem PGI people want read communauty feedback and wanna read it without searching it ^^

Well for me catapult like look obvisouly to small ( smaller than a dragon and i talk about overall volume )
Grasshopper is too tall... or it will need rollback about futur nerfs quirks
Executionner too tall (more than a atlas ) or will need some structures quirks for tank a bit...
Victor still too massive. Kit fox and jaggermech too.

All others look like good !

I pinned it just for today since it's a hot topic lately.

I need to test things for myself... but based on the images alone:

- Locust: Making it even smaller was un-called for. its unrealistically small now.
- 25 tonners are mostly unchanged... no comment.
- Kitfox: kitfox was and still is huge, with a pathetic 107kph speed it will continue to suck (and somehow the summoner gets a 5% speed boost and not this little thing... lol... herp derp).
- Adder and rest of 35ers: got bigger... but all 35 tonners exploded in size as well, no more 35 ton rambos it seems.
- IS mediums seem reasonable... Phoenix hawk looks a bit larger than it should
- Nova: they over did it in terms of down-scaling
- Catapult: They overdid it.
- Direwolf: the new thinner model helps, but it will still be a slow whale getting shot from all angles
- Warhawk: getting smaller helps, but not much
- stalker: gonna be better now that its smaller now.
- the rest are ok i guess.

A small quantitative comparison:

At least I care enough for the forums, though I still dislike how some here react to big changes. It's why I'm still trying to recover from what I'm doing, and why I haven't chose sides much or give my opinion much. Until then not much will be said from me unless it's something unbiased and knowledgeable by everyone.

The catapult seems so small now.

the new giant 35 tonners are at least in the middle ground between 30 and 40 in the size chart.
but the catapult looks like a 45 tonner now.
Spoiler

I think that most of it isn't going to make much difference, but I am very happy that they are now sized by science.

I'm nervous about a lot of the lights being made larger, because they aren't in a great place balance-wise as it is. And I'm surprised the Cute Fox and Badder were actually undersized before. But I think we can all agree that mechs should not be shrunk or embiggened for balance purposes. Size them correctly and go from there.

Larger mechs, TTK decreases. "Power draw" implemented, if done correctly, TTK increases. Assuming PGI does the smart thing and limits both a maximum alpha as well as have a damage output per second limit, they can reign in both high alpha and high dps builds. I view the rescale as just one part of a larger shift in the balance, and if the new power draw system is sufficiently limiting, you might find yourself happy the targets are a little bigger.

I think you have nailed it. This is part of a bigger picture and is not the endgame for balance. But it is the logical place to start by first ensuring mechs are scaled correctly.

I should probably be tagging these as pre-rescale...but this specific one will be so evident, it's not required

Successful how? Lowering TTK? If so it's going to be a resounding success.

Basically players who struggled to hit "invincible" lights will finally be able to take more than just paint off of them.

Let's call it 3, in order for it to complete the Trinity, and dole out GodQuirks to all those poor robots that just got gimped hard

In 30-90 days, of course

O and by the way, I am excided about the patch.

If you have gone through the emotional angst to have read though all of the prior posts... Take a deep breath, get a cookie and chill. It will all be okay. I hear this is a game.

Overall I'd say the changes were positive "Except" for the Zeus, It did NOT need to be bigger, its already killed easily, now you're just hanging a sign on it that reads "For Sale". The Awesome on the other hand, Looks a lot better now.

As much as the Clan Mechs being shrunk will annoy many players, I have to admit, they are now closer to what they should have been. Clan mechs were built with better materials and refined tech, allowing them to be made smaller for mass production, now they look it.

Unfortunately as an IS pilot this will make killing them harder and clan mechs were already on the OP side and are now even more OP by being harder to hit. Shows who the Devs favor, we should now just rename the game to Clanwarrior Online and get it over with as most IS mechs just got easier to kill (got bigger) while Clans got buffed.. again. I see clanners making more progress in FW now and the IS loosing more ground, which.. admittedly is how it should be, but I don't like the wins just handed to one side.
