No Mech Is Op, The Pilot Is

I have tried many of the mechs people claim are OP, the Oxides, Streak Crows, Boom Jeagers, etc.. and you know what? I totally suck in them.. Yup.. can't hit squat. Give me certain mechs and I'll take top score in a match, just usually not in mechs people claim are OP. I regularly get good scores in mechs that others will quickly avoid, Dragons for example, I have on occasion done excetionally well in them (Over 700 damage), and yet most people think they suck.
It's the pilot that makes a mech OP. I see some people wrecking everyone in certian mechs, yet I, which am by far not the best pilot, but no worse than the guy piloting the same mech can't use the same as well. We all have our favorites and mechs we do well in so give yourselves some credit. Are some mechs better than others? Sure, but its YOU that makes it OP, not the mech itself.

What they are saying is, yes some mechs are stronger than others, but nothing is a:

As a noob cannot just climb into the strongest mech in the game and instantly win, he saying that the pilot makes all the difference. Me, I can't use Storm Crows to save my life, but give me a Dragon and I am an unholy terror.

There will still be bad pilots as there will still be bad mechs.

I will agree with your statement that the pilot makes all the difference but trying to say that certain mechs are not out of line is silly. I am not supportive of such things as 50% anything quirks even for Mist Lynx.

That mech was certainly OP.
Also TDR-9S with 50% heat generation.

The pilot does not make all the difference. There is a difference in mechs too. Saying the pilot alone makes all the difference is as dumb as saying the mech alone makes all the difference.

You completely missed the point. The pilot IS the difference. An Oxide IS a great mech "IF" the person piloting it can actually get it in and out of combat and hit what they're shooting at. However, not everyone that buys one and hops in thinking "Wow, that guy last match had 700+ damage in that, its OP" is assuming that his skill level is equal to the guy he watched.. not likely.
Again.. its the pilot.
You keep saying it's the mech that makes you good, it's not the mech, a mech is only as good as the person piloting it, hence, YOU the pilot.
And to those saying some mechs are bad? Ok.. I'll give you that one.. some are particularly bad, but not hopeless, even bad mechs, once stripped and modified to taste can shine with the right pilot.... Except maybe the Charger, which thankfully we don't have. People keep telling me "Panthers are bad", and yet I get good scores in them.

I don't get into how much specific mechs may or may not be OP anymore, because I just don't care at this point. However, the argument that a mech is not OP because a an unskilled player cannot make it work is complete ********. Some mechs are just better, for a variety reasons, and some mechs will never be particularly good. A skilled pilot can make anything work to a degree, but when faced with an equally skilled pilot they will, invariably, be outclassed by a the pilot in the better mech.

If you were talking about MechWarrior4 Mercenaries the best MechWarrior game of this IP series I would agree with you but not MWO .
This game MWO is so un-fun compared to the older PC MechWarrior games its crazy the older MechWarrior games it was 80% pilot skill and 20% mech and load out MWO is just the opposite 80% mech and load out and 20% pilot skill.
So please don't say it takes a lot of skill for a noob to jump in a Kodiak and not get kills regardless of the fact he is almost skill deficient.

Exactly when did I say this? All I said is that the original poster is wrong, and his logical conclusion that because he can't do well in certain mechs, it must mean that they are not OP, is a fallacy.

True. But the fun thing is that people complain about some mechs being too good / too bad and devs are *cough *cough trying to *cough balance them based on that. When balancing is being done based on the metrics from unbalanced playerbase it is pointless and silly.
I don't think anyone would argue that we shouldn't balance players and equalize their skill. Why should we balance mechs then? They aren't supposed to be balanced as is in the first place. I.e. UrbanMech sux, but you could get at least a dozen of em for the price of one Clan heavy etc. Oh Repair & Rearm how I miss you and all the tears of ALRM users ...

Put 1 in warhawk and the other in stk 4n.
Or orion vs tbr
Ill grab a popcorn...
These pairs clearly shows differences in mech power and they are both same weight.
Op mech wont make you automatically win, but it will give you an advantage and the better you get the more important even smallest advantages become.
And **** i could use your argument to justify blatant pay2win.
"look this clearly superior mech over here isnt pay2win, pilot might suck and it will be balanced".
