Slow day at work, gonna fire up MS Paint a bit and see if I can make a HBK-IIC I don't hate. Haven't done that in a while. The torso was botched horribly on my first attempt :)

HBK-IIC and work in progress ON1-IIC have been added to the lineup.

I wanted to finish the Orion today but things came up, figured you might still want to see the sketched in areas since it's a pretty decent indicator of the final result, just needs the colors all filled in properly to show depth.

Other changes this go around include a few mechs getting a pixel or two bigger (Night Gyr) or smaller (Timber Wolf). MAD-IIC will likely shrink a pixel or two as well later on, but I'm in no rush.

Nice! My only suggestion would be to change the image to a PNG with transparent background (should be possible, I think the forums only disallow BMP (or maybe it's just my web host that doesn't do BMPs)), or use the dark grey backdrop instead of the pure black. Right now you can see the spot between the HBR's legs is slightly mismatched as grey. But either way it's cool to see people use your work (whether it's in a signature or a game like CapperDeluxe).

So close to finishing ... with a bit of luck the Clan sheet will be finished by the weekend. The EXE may yet spoil that party though, the torso/face on that thing sucks Posted Image

Thanks for the advice. I put this together really fast with Photoshop Elements 8 and did not experiment with it much. I may try to put a border around it and dress it up a bit at another time. Thanks again for making the pixel Mechs so stuff like this is possible.

Happy to do it, it's time consuming but a lot of fun (most of the time)!

Newest edition is up, with the last of the IIC mechs all present and accounted for. A few minor touchups here or there on other mechs as well. Night Gyr torso looks better now. The Executioner however is still a hot mess. I think every time I do the torso over again it gets worse Posted Image

I may turn my attention back to the IS grid for a bit, get some progress done and come back to the EXE.

Those are amazing!

Hey, since you did the Cougar... can you do the Fire Moth? (hint: has the same legs of the Mist Lynx)

EDIT: and when you resume the IS mechs, please consider to do justice to the Wasp.

EDIT2: if you really like Clan mechs, there are some other few that could use a look: Black Lanner, Fire Falcon, Turkina, Kingfisher, Rifleman IIC and Pouncer.

Lol I think someone's a bit excited ;)

I'll definitely consider some of the ones you mentioned. Fire Moth is maybe the most likely just because it's not a completely new design. The other ones would be a lot of work since we don't have any lovely Alex Iglesias concept art to go from :P

I suppose I could try my hand at the related chassis once I do a Phoenix Hawk, maybe try the Valk/Wasp/Stinger/Crusader. But in the meantime I do have some other design work that needs doing in the coming weeks, pixel mechs may go on the back burner again for a little while.

Could think of the Pouncer as a beefed up Adder, too, design wise. It might be a skin-deep comparison, but given it's just art, that is as deep as it needs to be, right? :P

Scale comparison for the Huntsman is up, and I'm happy with how it compares to the Hunchy. The Nova though really showcases how big of a deal the rescale effort was. That thing is so much shorter than the Huntsman it's ridiculous. I may trim a pixel or two off its legs next revision, possibly a pixel of width from each shoulder as well.

If you reduce the Nova's legs, please consider to do the same with the Viper's.

Did the update with some scale changes, and made a quick Fire Moth (slightly shrunk down Misty with new weapon pods and those silly arms). Then they went and announced a Supernova so... I'll possibly get that done later in the week and post yet another update. Just when you think you're done ... Posted Image

Not uploaded yet :P

GAH and I screwed up big-time. Had a Phoenix Hawk 70% done up, but I added it to the wrong file (I work from a duplicate copy every time I make changes, and keep the old ones as backup). Went to cut and paste and rename some files, and I must have deleted the wrong one because the one with the Pixie is a goner Posted Image

Aww man that sucks, I know that feeling of losing work like that!!!

That's why I started using Git version control to track my changes for other projects, even if it is something local that I don't commit to GitHub. That way if I ever overwrite something I can just revert to the last committed version Posted Image

I tried to be meticulous about this stuff, as I was losing track of my changes early on by working on files on two separate computers. Things worked great until I started editing an out of date version and went to fix it :P Entirely my fault, but a huge kick in the nuts all the same since I was going to modify that Phoenix Hawk into a Crusader, Stinger, Wasp, etc. over time. Now the enthusiasm isn't quite there at the moment.

Sorry, to hear about your loss of your work. I have done that while writing fiction and it is just a "WTF! Did I really just do that?" moment.

I look forward to the resized Nova. It was bugging me a little and I thought about trying to change the size of it in my signature on my own. That would have likely been a disaster so I am glad you are going to save me the grief.

I (we) really appreciate the work you do on these.
