Pipe dream much?
Here is the sad, but honest truth. CW/FW is an abysmal failure.
It's not even a shadow of what was promised or expected and to do anything to "fix" it will require scrapping most of it and starting from scratch again.
I disagree with this only because my own little pop-psychology based theory to explain Russ's seeming incredible ego about what he and PGI have done with this game is that he truly believes the exact opposite. That is to say that he thinks CW is in fact EXACTLY what was promised. I've expounded on this before but here are the facts:
CW as originally promised was supposed to be an immersive, interactive experience where players in game conduct affected the map as well as produced real in game consequences for them self, their unit and faction. What people wanted and expected was a map, based on lore, wherein when you did things like say, capture a planet with a mech factory on it you would gain cheaper mechs or prevent your enemy from using certain mechs, or at least affect the cost of said mechs, etc. That sort of thing is what folks expected as being "immersive" and "interactive" in the "battletech game".
What we have instead, is that if we take a planet we get a bit of MC. From Russ's perspective this is the
exact same thing. Not a shadow of what was expected, but exactly what was promised: you, the player, and your like minded fellows, take a planet. As a reward you gain real in game currency that you can you to help your fellows lower their costs for actual game content. This is immersive. This is interactive.
When CW was proposed folks expected campaign style fights where the affects of battles were cumulative. One action affected the other as you progressed.
What we have instead is scouting, which if conducted repeatedly and successfully produces an in game consequence ( satellite and Long Tom), which in turn affect invasion mode. This is to Russ's mind the
exact same thing, it is immersive and interactive. One mode, one form of battle, affects another.
I think this is why PGI made that oh so lovely FP advertisement video. Why Russ gets indignant when questioned about these things. Why Russ said that FP is going to just have small incremental changes from here on out: PGI and Russ honestly feel that FP is finally at a state which reflects (to their way of thinking) exactly what was promised four years ago. To them the FP mode that we have is not a mere shadow of what was promised. To them it is near perfect.
And that is why this whole "round table" is a total waste of time, and why the FP mode is as good as it is going to get...Blake and Kerensky help us all.
