Here is a bigger question - what's with the useless cloak and dagger? PGI hasn't made big fanfare around a mech in a long time. Even when releasing the unseen they didn't make them massive guessing games.

So... what is so special about this mech?

Is it from 3055, thereby also bringing with it more advanced technology and advancing the timeline?

When sales are low companies tend to change up the way they advertise their products. It's not the mech I want so it won't help them to get me to buy but again who cares about losing $320 worth of sales right? I mean that is smart business correct?

This isn't changing the way they sell their product (still digital in the online store) and where is your proof that sales are low?

We don't need more butthurt "PGI is out of business tomorrow" posts. It's not 2010 anymore.

Eh probably for **** and giggles. Probably saw people not waiting to hear about the next mech in the last town hall. nice to change it up once and awhile.

Twitter says they are low judging by tweets about summer and population dips, if people aren't playing the average person isn't buying either, and I don't know if they are but it's a generalization of what companies do, and a mech announcement is a form of advertising. I didn't say they were going out of business but I'm saying they sure as hell aren't improving it and made some piss poor choices. That's my point of view as a customer.

I would absolutely love and buy the Bushwacker. But that also means advancing the timeline.

At this point it seems like they are willing to do anything to keep people interested, creating their own variants was just the precursor to altering the timeline. Seriously, the Clans already won Terra and the history of the Inner Sphere means nothing, Leopards pack more weapons than Unions, and Long Toms blow 'mechs apart like M80's and mailboxes...

Not altering, advancing. HUUUUUUUUUUUGE difference. But that means adding ~30% more weapons and equipment as well.

EDIT - on second view, the mech simply has too high of a profile to be a bushwacker, and the nose isn't quite Posted Image

Due to scale you'll never see certain mechs like their old illustrations.

But they're similar. This one has a fully front mounted cockpit instead of one that is set further back.

Don't get me wrong, some stuff works right. The right foot has a toe that sweeps out pretty far, there is the left mounted shoulder missile launcher, and the right hand appears to be a claw.

However, it's not very long, the torso looks too big and the leg tends to have more of a backwards, not upwards angle.

But I guess nobody will know until PGI finally decides to knock it off and just throw the peasants bread Posted Image

EDIT: Ina ll, the leg structure and cockpit layout looks more like a marauder.

I agree that more Packs will boost sales but I for one am done buying. Look at the Steam numbers, 1,186 in game as I write this... I know that PGI will never release the actual totals but there are more people playing Elder Scrolls: Oblivion right now... I am really struggling to stay with the MWO train, especially with HBS and their game updates to be excited for.

Let me ask this. Would you enjoy MWO if it was an expansive campaign with mission packs and had timeline story DLC packs?

I would enjoy lots of additional content to MWO... single player experience, co-op PVE, a story, less-meta, stock friendly modes, etc. I would pay for mission packs and expansions, but I think the "buy now and get this mech early" has pretty much worn off. I love BattleTech and the Mechwarrior franchise, it just makes me sad that this is really neither of those things. How about you, what do you think would make the game better?

Pls no.

I would rather prefer mech packs or whatever else as opposed to this.

This speaks many vibes of "Hey let's separate everyone into even more different ques!!!"

This is what it been pushing for for years, it gives PGI a new revenue stream allows them to create maps and make money off them.

You should know by now I have always voiced this. You've been here as long as I have. You and I think differently. Money is what keeps the game going and not all of us like to play PVP all the time or at all. It's about the games success. Buy this mech pack please wore off IMO about a year and half ago.

The silhouette is spot on for a Mad Cat II. The timeline isn't, but the silhouette is right.

Sorry bud even I know it's not the Mad Cat MK II though I wanted it to be. It's arms are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy wrong to be a Mad Cat MK II.

EDIT: It's legs are way off too.

We are missing the clan heavy, and that is an assault.

Not if we're looking at the silhouette from behind right while it's torso twisted left.

But the timeline is still off. =(

First there is no timeline and second Alex has never drawn the back of a mech as concept art ;) for a mech reveal.
