I've thrown maybe around $100 at this game, and played about 400 hours. I think that's reasonable, and I can't really see anyone justifying paying $1000+ for this game.

Stopped playing for a while. Maybe after the July patch hits, but my interest has dropped alot since the failed FP reform.

I am Whale'ish.

I have 240 mech bays filled. 97% of them are fully mastered. Working on Novas and Archers now. I accomplished my goal of owning ALL Inner Sphere mechs, except as noted below...

I own every single 'HERO MECH' except the Archer Hero and the Kodiak Hero Spirit Bear, and the Phoenix Hawk Hero. I quit buying preorder mech packs after Resistance (2) came out. I only buy the Heros when they go on sale. I only buy Mechs when they are available for CBills anymore.


I run Premium Time 24/7/365 .. I like to have Cbills. Some days I get a few hours in in the morning, never play evenings really.. weekends are really hit/miss depending on whats going on. So I play perhaps 4-10 hours a week max anymore.


As I said, I don't buy mech packs anymore, mostly because I need something to look forward to.

I NEVER use GXP for mech chassis. So I don't use MC for conversion.


I will continue to buy $49.99 worth of MC when I run out each time.

Most of that MC gets eaten up buying single shot camo's for my mechs, Mechbays and running 30 days premium time at a time. I have considered dropping $99 for 25000 MC to run 6 or 12 months Premium time at once, but you never know with video games =, so I go 2500 MC for 30 days at time.

I buy 'ONE' camo single shot for each mech at 75-150 MC per, not much.. I never change the camo pattern, just the color.

I do not buy Colors unless there is a 'Sale'. I tend to get colors during events and such. I own perhaps 30 colors, enough of the rainbow to make what ever combo i want.

I NEVER buy cockpit items. So many are given away in events and most get in my field of vision so those 4 dozen or so I do have sit in the hangar. I run Speakers sometimes, but never buy them.

I never buy MC coolant flushes or arty's or UAV's.. waste of money.


PGI is running out thing I might spend money on, and that is a BAD thing..

I think PGI thinks the supply Cache idea will entice us to spend MC. I don't need 'A SINGLE THING' that could possibly be in the box, so why,? I have 4-5 XL400 and almost every other XL engine plus one to replace that one,..


Wondering where cash will be spent, tho I will buy MC for Premium Time.. not much else...

yeah i am a whale ive spent 800 in 2 years, the last thing ive bought is the Cyclops and i was considering refunding it. I mostly play CW Invasion and since thats been the way it is lately ive simply been playing other games.

No, you have your main account that's either IS or Clan. Then an alt (or two) to play other mechs/factions. You get bored with the main account and spent more time dropping alts but your main is the one you interact with the forum on. I know a few forumwhores who do that.

Plus, yeah. A lot of us burned out with how bad FW phase 3 was. Such an utter let-down. So you've got all these people with thousands and thousands of drops and thousands of dollars spent who still WANT to play but find the game so disappointing now that when they try they only manage a fee games before they go play something more fun.

Even the last of the original White Knights, Bishop Steiner has gone that way. Don't worry though, game is better than it has ever been. You should buy a mech pack!

I'm not sure I want to know how much MWO has gotten out of me over the last four years.

Cyclops is my last purchase honestly for a looong time unless something dramatic happens.

Just too many actually good games out there for me to play now.

FW is practically dead... players are leaving... prices are ridiculous... Most weapon balance decisions are based on 2013 data, UI is mediocre and lacking...Long Dong Tom... Game designers do not play the game.

And before you answer... remember that i have more games than you since 2 weeks ago. That is your standard... stand by it!

As someone who has purchased all the heroes and just about every mech package at the top tier bar maybe two.
I'd be a whale.

With the current pricing scheme and weak Australian dollar I can't justify doing this anymore.

I understand that PGI needs to make money. But with the slow development rate it feels like we are being ripped off. The older packages were good value but these solo chassis releases are questionable at best.

now the Dream of a new BT Game is dead..last bye was the LegendKiller , this Game have nothing more to do with BT/MW as Mechskins/names ..no Feeling,No Ambient ...its no War ,is Arenafighting , nothing Immersion ,and PGI put the Lore with Feets...with the last Patch ,My Hope with the Rescale ,all Mechs like the Catapult , will make scaling down to more Loresized units, with more Agillity and faster Movement and more difficult Targets with more Cover and nowa half failed Rescale (Assaults now scaling up to 20m 75t Mechs like Assaults to 16m, Lights to Medium Size) ,im leave the Playing further

Yeah. I just worked it out. I'm over $1000, although not by a huge amount.

I've been fairly unconvinced by the current single-mech pricing scheme. Sure, the $20-for-three is a decent deal, especially for heavy+ mechs like the Kodiak (when you compare it to the Cbill/MC pricing) but I really don't like the value for the additional mechs. I'm also in the same boat as many, I think: while there *are* mechanics that aren't working that PGI sometimes struggle to address, I'm not buying not as some kind of protest, but more because it's hard to see what benefit *another* set of mechs will bring to me personally.

IMHO, collecting mechs for the sake of collecting and running amok in game with them is a great thing. Spending the insane amount of money on the latest ones... screw that! Not worth it.

There only one mech that I really, really like. The rest just sit there collecting spiders and wasps nests. It's pathetic.

I'm sticking to the $20 packs for now on, just for the cool stuff.

I've bought every maximum mech pack up to the Viper, I cancelled it and the Night Gyr, I considered cancelling the Cyclops and Phoenix Hawk as well.

I said I wouldn't buy another clan mech again, and I will only buy Inner sphere mechs that have or might translate into DLC for HBS Battletech. so only mechs with a 3025 timeline

Having said that, I might purchase the Linebacker $20 because it's clearly not power creep, I like the Thunderbird 2 head, and I might as well spend money before Sterling completely collapses against the dollar, I have 22 days to make up my mind.

I guess that puts me in the spending still group, but I'm not grabbing everything just because its a new shiny

Think carefully about paying for a clan mech-it'll not have quirks. Is mechs will still be cooler, shorter duration and structure quirked compared to you. you'll be paying for a weaker chassis.
