I never had problems taking out Locust.... the key is to NOT aim for the legs (unless they are already red armor). But I guess having a light that didn't fall over when you swept a laser over the legs was too much.
Why should an extremely fast light mech have so much bonus armor on its legs that it's hardly even worth aiming there?

So...you weren't already worrying a lot about laser damage to your legs before, or what? That's not something quirks should be enabling people to do while running around in the otherwise most fragile mech in the game.

They butchered one of the last mechs i had fun piloting.

Duration on small pulses isn't that huge of a deal. I'm actually fine with the 1E losing these, it was a fairly cool running dps monster. The 6ML build will be much worse though.
But the 1v...... Just dead. The cry babies calling for nerfing the 1v really have no clue what's powerful in this game. Yeah that mech had extremely cool dps, out to a very good range, but it took sooooooo much face time to deliver it, and required a very long game against scrubs to do so. It's absolute trash against real players. If it lost a single trade it was either dead or gimped. I just can't fathom why PGI is out to completely destroy the most overwhelmingly under-represented weight class. I really want to be all about this game, but they just push their customers away like no business I've ever seen.

Remember how inferior the quirks were on many recent robots like the Archer or even the new Cat hero?
They're pushing things down towards that level for everyone, with the biggest shoves going to good ones in the eyes of players until we're dropping back into barely-noticeable changes to stats.
