I don't own Marauders and I don't know anything about them, but, just think that the Balance Overlord gave his blessing unto this 'Mech when it's shipped. As long as as there's no NegaQuirk, He can take back what He has given as He pleases.

The MAD on the whole never had fantastic quirks. The Warhammer did. The quirks the Warhammer got were lore-derived and should have been equally applicable to the MAD but for some reason they liked the WHM more. The better hard-points and better quirks have let the WHM eclipse the MAD since it released.

Well, he's also a fan of the Dragon and it continues to suck.

I agree, maybe PGI is redefining Hero mechs to be less of a Hero and more of a Handicapped Hero. Mind you, the Oxide did need a nerf.

Good advice about not spending money. Since unloading other accounts I find the game much more rewarding without spending a real life dolla.

Mmmmmmm..... yes

I do own them and the MAD-3R is my most favourite Mech. There is no Mech I feel more comfortable and more competent with.
If anything the lack of PPC quirks on the MAD-5D was a disappointment.

I hope I won't change my mind after the patch.

You can't re-position well with a slow 'Mech.

Right. That's just right. That's why I prefer fast Mechs myself and stay away from slow Mechs.

PS: the argument about offensive quirks vs mobility quirks is more of a general philosophy one. Currently I am not in the mood to discuss it here.

You must have missed the part where I'm an Assault pilot lamenting the nerfs of almost everything here, because a lot don't make any sense.

But ok.

Oh I wasn´t talking to you specifically. I´m just saying I can´t empathize with anyone at the moment, I´m too sad about poor Lolcust.

If anything, marauders need a buff.

They're supposed to be competitive, but they're quite mediocre.

Because clearly the Marauder and Warhammer were carving swathes of pilots from the under hive. Corpses upon corpses piled onto one another until finally it reached high enough to Russ, where a random pug was able to wheeze the words: "help us!"

To which Russ replied: "...sure."

EDIT:

What the ****.

Hilarious. :)

They haven't nerfed the Dragon, Awesome, Mist Lynx, or Ice Fridge yet so the world hasn't ended entirely. Just sayin'!

Robots get nerfed as they no longer generate income, unless they're so good that they end up making everything else impossible to want to buy. Then they get nerfed earlier, and get nerfed again later.

Since they're C-bill sold, keeping them highly appealing is no longer needed. Buy a newer mechpak instead.

The nerfbat must hit everything and anything. It has no favorites (well, actually, that's a lie when it comes to a certain few).

It got an overall modest net nerf in this upcoming patch. It has also had its quirks reduced on two separate occasions (not counting this patch). Your argument is invalid.

They did nerf the Dragon and the Mist Lynx. Dragon lost its ballistic awesomeness, Mist Lynx lost some structure in the legs (lolwut).

Never spend money on mechs for the quirks. Only spend money on mechs if you like the mech.

Quirks come and go. By the time the mechs are on sale for C-bills, they mostly go.

Myself, I buy based on faction lore, not quirks. That's why I have a Marauder and an Archer, but no Rifleman. No amount of qurik-meddling is going to change that, and often times, I have the most fun with 'mechs players gripe are "Bad".

Unfortunately, I can see why the marauder is getting a nerf. When I got my 3R, it became THE mech I use for everything because it's armament works for my play style. But more importantly, it rolls damage like a BOSS. It's so good at rolling damage that an XL engine isn't really a liability, allowing a much greater weapon load at little risk.

The nerf changes that. The mech may not be XL friendly after the values reduce on Tuesday. If that is the case, I will grieve, then find a few favorite again, like I always do.

I bought my Heroes before quirks were introduced. Thank god I didn't buy the Heavy Metal at the time.

Regarding the BH2, it just feels like it's in a good place now. The quirks are what make it viable as a sub-70kph heavy. Cmon, it's a Hero that is severely gimped compared to its non-Hero variants. The thing doesn't even have ballistic or PPC quirks, despite the fact that it's a gauss/ERPPC platform in lore.

The BH2 is my favorite ride of all time in MWO. It doesn't have the best mounts or most mounts or the best geometry and it's pretty slow in today's game, but it's the agility that keeps me coming back. It can hop and turn like a mech 15 tons lighter and 20kph faster. Take that away and it's just another dead Hero.

I concur about the tankability, however its lack of offensive quirks is what keeps it in line. It tanks extremely well, but the trade is that it has nearly vanilla weapons. This causes it to get passed over in high level play. In light of that, I can't see why it should be nerfed. It's a solid 'Mech, but not over the line.
