So to sum it up from all thread we have by now:
Highlander, Riffleman, 500mc (that's me ) as the best prizes.
Next come 3-5 mechbays and then - 3keys pack and some expensive modules. I think i've seen way over a hundred results so far. When it come to 300, we shall see the first rough estimation of caches' content value.

Yeah, there are some nice things I was tempted to pick up. Mechs, 500mc, Mechbays, etc.

I opened up three caches so far, spent mc on two keys and the one free key from the event. Each of those caches had lots of decent prizes, however once opened it was like...the single lrm 15 or x2 srm6 or 50,000 cbills.

Lesson learned. Even if the odds look favorable they are not.

I would like to know if the odds are even. If they are making any specific item have less chance to be chosen then it should be fixed

I would be very surprised if they were, but I don't have a large enough sample to say for sure.

the trick with them seems to be. Look for the least useful/valuable thing in any supply cache; That's what you are going to get.

The post from tina is on page 3. Chances are not even.

Animations like that one are pretty much standard in systems like this. It does look misleading but since it's not technically lying about the odds it's legal. It is definitely intentional.

Then it's a scam from PGI.
Because the displayed items and layout IMPLY a 1/8 chance and one bases one's decision on it.
Example:
4 items worth MCs (premium time, mechbay, cache keys, MCs)
4 items worth only CBs
So you automatically think "Okay, I have a 50% chance to get more MCs than i spent. I'll risk it."

I honestly cannot see where based on the given UI, ANYONE could assume that it's NOT 1/8 chance.
If it's not 1/8 chance, the UI layout and/or textual hints have to point that out if PGI does not want to appear as some kind of scammer criminal who play their customers for suckers.

But if chances deviate from the created impression, it's even a rip-off in itself.

The last one I got (so far) had: 250k, 50MC, Dog Tag, 3xSupply Keys, 10xAdv. UAV, Double Helix, 1xGauss Rifle, and 1xC-LRM15. This one I sold off, didn't seemed worthy to spend 25 MC on it.

One of them, I opened with the free key from the event, the other I used MC which I've been accumulating from "winning" in past events.

I got the SMN-D cache as well, I got the LBX10 out of it. So we know that the caches aren't randomly generated, but which item is picked from the cache is random.

With my son playing MWO too, we have 2 accounts in the house and have opened 6 caches total, split 4 on my founder account and 2 on his new account. In all cases keys have been used only on caches that contained a battlemech, the others have been sold unopened. All 6 resulted in a pack of equipment worth 200,000 to 300,000 cBills.

I'm more than willing to spend MC given for free as event prizes on keys. But the odds are seeming steep against the top prizes, so expectations are managed accordingly.

I didn't get anything worth mentioning. It looks like you don't get equal chances getting each item from a cache. If PGI won't change it it's not worth 25MC.

Seems like I choosing not to play recently has been a good decision.. supply crates, really. I feel all lore giddy, can I get the helm memory core too?
Wonder if I can cash in my poor alt acc with some clan mechs... I'd quite like it

I got a free key with this event and opened up for 5k GXP. Outside of that waiting for more keys to come to me for free.
