It figures out what you win before that animation starts. The animation is just for show for dramatic tension.

This kind of dramatic tension?

..... Maybe give keys away as well as boxes?? Or make keys available for c-bills??

They do give away keys. I've opened 2 times as many with free keys. And the "purchased" keys were with MC I won in the events.

I'm not surprised that some people think the virtual wheel somehow has the heft, balance and probability of a well machined mechanical wheel. I strongly advise those people to think twice about ever endeavoring real gambling which is always "rigged" in favor of the machine's owner and never the player.

When you buy a scratcher card at the convenience store do you think the numbers under the coating might change after you buy it?

Opened two last night, was expecting the 250k cbill rewards. Instead I got a mech bay and a sensor range module. Best I've ever gotten from a cache is 500mc.

Sure the cyan items are most likely to drop. Open caches with the expectation of getting one of those, so never open one with a lot of junk cyan items like jump jets.

Spent 575 MC last night... had a bunch of keys, and i bought some, to open 35 crates.. I ended up with 1 day premium, over 4M in sold clan tech and C-bills, +1 6m credit module, 1 hanging item, and 2 mech bays.. On top of about 5m+ worth of IS weapons i kept, like a few gauss and Large pulse lasers and some other stuff. All with Free MC i earned through the last few events.. been collecting the crates since last summer.. So basically lets call it barely enough MC to buy a light mech on sale, i got close to 20m worth of stuff.. and a couple of bays..

I'd say that was a darn good haul for just playing the game

Some boxes are worth opening, others are not.
Will be interesting to see how the boxes change after Modules are gone.

I've opened 62 of them that had at least one Mech. About half of them had two other good items. MC, Modules etc. The other half had at least one other good item.

The best thing I've "won" is 250,000 C-Bills. I hate the way the wheel of crap will almost stick on the mech and then will flip over. If fact, I've guessed 7 items out of the last 10 opened because they are simply the one after the Mech.

Has anyone ever won a mech? From reading here it seems like there is a hidden ratio of what you can win. For instance, I think there is a .003% chance of winning a Mech.

I've won zero Mechs, zero Mech Bays, zero Modules.

35 keys is 875mc... 20mil eh? *experiences may vary* I open 12 boxes I get mechbays (dont need) a narc (no)some large lasers (100k ea) a few lrm 15s and srm6 (mostly all cheaply sold blue items) and about a week of gametime. It equals to less then 1m worth of "winnings"? hmmm..yeah...that some quick mcPosted Image I honestly make far more bills playing game in my exp. I buy +cb mechs on sale and gametime make steady money now over gambling for 100k items or less for 25mc a pop Posted Image

I'm almost certain that supply caches have hidden programming designed specifically to give you the list desirable item in any scenario. Anyone who has ever received something decent or good have experienced a glitch in the Matrix and will be corrected in 60-90 days.

Keep in mind that at least my complaint about the wheel was how they set it up to basically give you the finger when you spin it. Of course the prize is set beforehand by a random number or some such thing and the wheel and when you click it is just for show and has no effect on the outcome. That being said, having the wheel set up to almost stop on something cool and then roll over to stop on the trash you actually win is just lousy design.

Nobody looks at that and goes, "Duh, next time I'll get the cool prize by clicking sooner!" or has a sudden urge to buy supply keys. Watching people just miss out on a cool prize on a random spin is one of those things that is exciting when it happens to somebody else. Long story short, they can keep all the fake wheel spinning they want, but don't add insult to injury when somebody wins a NARC by pretending he "almost" won a Mech Bay.

They're Loot Crates! Just like in TF2, they always had and always will have a bunch of common items, a few rares, and a super rare item that almost no one gets!

That being said, I can't contribute contents or anything, but I'll probably be selling any Supply Cache that doesn't have a decent spread of wanted items with a common that I don't mind getting instead.

Personally, I'm going to wait for free keys too, as getting mechbays will be FAR more important to me, in the long run.

Free to Play requires a bit of stinginess.

As a recently returning player over the last few months a lot of things were new to me, supply caches being one of them.

I had MC left over so I stupidly spent a fair bit opening supply caches as I recieved them. I must have opened at least 20 or so and as far as I can tell it works like this...

Opening a box grants you the item you want LEAST in the box time after time after time. Im not opening them anymore. I dont expect a free mech with every box at all but recieveing medium lasers and small ammounts of c-bills really doesnt cut it.

I usually let a pile of caches build in inventory then open them all at once. I just did a batch of 8. 50MC, Mech Bay, 250k c-bill, and some weapons including a C-ER PPC.

As to what they do what the skill tree change happens eliminates modules ? More engines...more large C-bill payouts, more larger MC payouts, more mech bays.

I keep getting em, I keep selling em.

I tried too many. Unless I see the useless items to change to something useful I aint buying into this crap any more cause that's all you'll get.

Hey, it's a free mech bay, extra money, and proof that we CAN win mechs from the Supply Caches.

I keep getting omnipods and medium lasers, i regret buying the supply cache keys i bought. I gave them a chance, considering all the other rewards in any of the 20ish caches i opened...i almost always got the worst one possible in them.
So PGI you screwd yourself out of a revenue stream, because i will never buy another key from you.

the only time i would spend the MC is if they had something useful like Radar Derp, other than that the supply crates are a gip. A sucker trap . Sure you can argue the % chance but it is like any other gamble at the casino, they are designed to make you lose.
