Know if there's anyway to join the kickstarter? (I'm aware it's "done", but curious if it's too late to donate/"own" the game before the release).

I honestly do not know. Not sure where one would look at this point.

Did nobody see how janky the walk animations were.

Yes. Have you looked at how janky the walk animations in MWO are? It's super early. Walking animations will indubitably be addressed. Hopefully the arms will be free to move to, instead of locked to the ribs.

Looks boring. I am thinking about late backing though since my brother backed the kickstarter.

I suppose it depends on whether you like tactical turn based RPG style games (like Front Mission, Final Fantasy Tactics, XCom, etc...). If those games never interested you, it might not be your thing.

Although MechCommander was real time and not turn based, if you liked MechCommander, you might still enjoy this game as well.

Well, my knowledge behind Inner Spheres, Lore, Story before when Clan Invasion still low. Because I'm more interested in Clan's Lore.

Agreed, If this game is success enough, maybe there will be Clan Sequel, Expansion or DLCs Story in the future.

They did talk about DLCs if this proves successful that would eventually lead to the Clans. But one could use this as the opportunity to become familiar with the Pre Clan world.

Oh really? I missed that in the video... or did they talk about it on their forums? I have not been hding there yet... but after seeing this I just might lurk a bit more.

I am one of the guys that was not excited about this at the start. Its turning out amazing, everything so far. Way better than I expected.

Really during the kickstarter I was no help at all and I feel bad now. Posted Image Sure one forumite isn't much but still.

Someone else already posted it but I'll post it again anyway:

Late Backers!

One of the most common questions we get (besides, “Which ‘Mechs will be in the game?”) is “Can I still back the project?” Up until today the answer has been, “No.”
Now that all the design, production, manufacturing, and shipping for physical rewards is behind us, we feel comfortable opening up a limited number of DIGITAL-ONLY Backer levels, so that folks who missed our Kickstarter can become Late Backers and reinforce the mission.

Martin Lawrence's or the Monty Python's Black Knight?

These and more like them can be yours if you give me my Wasp, Stinger, Valkyrie, and Crusader in a timely fashion. Act now, my wallet is standing by.

Hopefully we'll see more collaborations between PGI and HBS, but I have to admit, while obviously it needs work (pre alpha, ya know?)...... it looks pretty stinking great already.

Not sure if they would have been in a position to make the jump in without PGIs help with the mech models (saves a lot of time and money reinventing the wheel) so thank you PGI and Alex for that.

FPS for the FPS crowd, TT Tactical Game for the TT crowd. Win/Win.

But it's turn-based! Posted Image

It's 2016 for crying out loud! They really should have taken a page from Creative Assembly.

After preorder burn, I held off on putting any money towards HBS's kickstarter for it. However, after playing Necropolis (another HBS title) and seeing this preliminary gameplay, I decided to shell out for the $35 pack. I love me some soundtracks!

You're right, that is the year we are in. :)

XCOM 2 also came out in 2016 and it is turn based. I'd say the genre is just as relevant now as it was before.

The genre isn't obsolete just because you don't like it.

Having the same mech models is very cool. I have some friends I've been trying to get into MWO for years, but are more interested in strategy based games. This will allow both itches to be scratched. The video was fun to watch. Looking forward to playing.

Turn Based is what actual Battletech players wanted. And it appears we may finally get our game, free of the taint and whining that turned MWO to CoD with Mech Skins.

Ditto.

In my TT campaigns we used the optional 2/12 Crit miss/Crit Hit system, had an Atlas taken out by a Locust MG to the head. Apparently found the right chip in the view port. The guy in the demo recovered with much more aplomb than I did, lol.

Meh. All I know is, between then and now, I relaxed a bit on my preorder blockade.

On the 9th? No Man's Sky.

On the 23? Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Also backing Overlord, which is under production by the very same team that created the original Descent series. A more modern Descent, but keeping all the major feel and flow of the originals. Except they no longer hold the rights to the name "descent." Which is hilarious, since they seem to own everything else about the IP. XD
