Always nice to see the inner workings of PGI up close and with lots of transparency. I was surprised Russ didnt just take a pic of the napkin, all of this was on, and just call it a day.

i dont understand the condescending remarks in any capacity for engagement towards any constructive. I just hear a lot of personal attacks.

From what i have seen recently, and i am not about to go back to 2012-13, is that at least whats evident in the roadmaps, has been reflective of what people wanted, and some sort of player influence.

With that being said, when i see something at least that was recent being not so great, I am going to blame the bonehead that introduced that idea.

If you want good examples, the idea of energy draw was completely fan made and somehow got into the road map. So that at least trough testing it can become a viable idea.

If you disagree with idea, their is a rational discourse for that. These personal attacks here and there don't serve any meaningful purpose, other than you dislike the guy.

it says something about that person that they need to constantly talk down to a guy.

I must say I am throughly underwhelmed by the roadmap.

What I'm seeing is lots of minor quality of life improvements, which is a very good thing. Also rework on the maps and new 'mechs, this is also a good thing, and the ability of PGI as an art shop was never in doubt anyway.

What troubles me that there's not a single major gameplay improvement with anything approaching a definite timeline. We've had lots of things coming SoonTM and so they still appear to be. The skill tree has been talked about as long as I can remember, and now the essential long-term promise is that they'll ... tell us something about it ... in December?

InfoWar and command console revamp don't make it even into the "Looking Ahead" section? If the Command Console thing was "being worked on" several months ago, and the skill-tree revamp takes years, when are these due? 2020?

Here, I have a post for you. But, I need a weekend to put it all together and then it can be in an impressive Roadmap that will make your heart go all a flutter.

Updates nobody asked for ... again.
Half-azzed efforts to do minimally viable versions of stuff people asked for ... again.
Promising this ... Looking very good that ... blah blah blah. Nothing specific, i.e. all useless BS talk.
Want to buy a MechPackTM?

I posted this in another forum thread. There are steps to do these things. when its the level of a company, even writing something up has to go through steps before its released. If you dont believe me look it up or go to the HBS forums and ask the same question. You will get an answer in the lines of it's not that simple

If you actually go and look at the forum history you will find that these topics were opened by players that you can still find on the forums today. Are you gonna also tell them that the items that they wanted were a waste of time?

to be honest i don't care for multiple drop decks. On the other hand i would have gotten chewed out if i keep posting that nobody cared for your(at the time) idea's. Same for the energy draw folks come-on dude

thats just selfish

Well after seeing that roadmap one starts think about things like "how many ppl work at PGI".
Because that roadmap looks like a job for 10 people, tops.

I'm not saying it's all bad... it's just lacking in content.

Please show me topics asking for art updates for Crimson Strait, Forest Colony or Mining Collective. Or idiotic "favorite mechs" section. This is a waste of time. People are not asking them to fubar existing maps like they keep doing, people are asking for new maps with diverse gameplay. They keep "fixing" old maps with diverse gameplay by turning them into "balanced" maps that all play exactly the same way. This is worse than waste of time.

Or their fixing of minimap they broke in the first place. Waste of time.
Or their implementation of decal system. Again - waste of time.

As for what people asked ... people asked for loadouts system that people had in all MW games and that PGI failed to produce in 4 years. Multiple dropdecks (FW exclusive) thingy we are getting isn't what people asked for. And yet you see this simple thing that could be done in 15 minutes like some sort of a miracle achievement.

Pathetic.

P.S. Not even going into the Ghost Heat 2.0. We know exactly how it'll turn out and exactly what it is done for. Clueless and nothing to do with gameplay.

really dude? I am not going to compile a big list for something you can easily do yourself. if you just gonna be mad and act like those discussions never happened then i cant help help you there.

you just claimed that people didnt ask for multiple drop decks, do you really want to go there?

before you go around and use the word pathetic you should do the research and make sure your information is accurate. The threads are from awhile ago but they are here i can assure you.

8 of which are working like dogs to pump out a new mech pack a month. 1 Russ and 1 community manager. I think they have interns working on the actual MWO since it doesn't generate much income atm.

I swear throwing fits on forums.

Things to my knowledge that were raised by people and these are from differnt avenues from my recollection either the threads, what i heard in townhalls,or NGNG

Multiple drop decks-player inspired
The ability to set favorite mechs-player inspired
in game store improvements-player inspired
People were also asking for more flexibly with decals, including myself

All of these were in threads maybe even years ago or mentioned by NGNG

I didnt see you yelling at people for wasting the devs time with items "nobody asked for"

Proven wrong and you want to start name calling. Thats cute, my little brother still does that.

do you guys actually like development better than before the road maps where here? I had some guy telling me when they made their first roadmap that none of the items were going to come out when it said they were. In the end i was the one that won that bet. I cant really see them doing a better job than making a roadmap and sticking to it(with slight variation). I dont want to go back to the times before.

I have to add, somebody just made a thread about drop decks, so i guess the topic is still relevant. Of course its a jade falcon player, only ones that drop these days.

A few items that we asked for such as savable drop decks. +1

However not a single peep, word, whisper, hint, whatever about fixing a major component of this game that being CW, FW, TW call it what you will.

The round table was just that, a round and round table where words where sent round and round. And now this "road map"

You are bleeding no hemorrhaging players PGI. It has gone beyond band aids into tourniquet needed now.

the round tables or town halls or whatever you call them have always been worthless.

the round table was talking about ideas to fix CW. How was their not a word, when the whole town hall was about it?

my second question would be given that the townhall was fairly recent how do you expect for them to implement changes to would fix it.

Russ said he was compiling the "best ideas" in my opinion i wish he wouldn't take half those ideas. In what resobable time frame do you expect work to be done? I beg your pardon but your kinda damning the mission before it starts

there are many requests for forets colony. Crimson gets some purela graphical updates, mostly because soem assets may be outdated. Also people HAVE done requests for changes, they wanted more tunnels and stuff.

Mining yes, haven'T seen any demands for altering it. Yet it gets error fixes (and there seem to be soem since the game still crashes qute often there compared to other maps) and some minor graphical updates which probably are again just altered graphic assets.

But decals were requested and it was said the first implementation is a step of many.

So sry most things that get altered were requested, you start to lose some objectivity Phoenix, and you are quite often here in the forum so you should remember these requests.

Lets put it this way ... count the amount of times people asked for something that really matters ... i.e. meaningful FW, working MM, non-skirmish game modes, new maps, weapon balance compared to the amount of times people asked for something like art updates for existing maps or "favorite" mech. When a hundred people ask for thing.no.1 and three people ask for thing.no.2 - doing thing.no.2 isn't doing what people are asking for. Especially considering that thing.no.2 changes absolutely nothing.

Yes yes. Community Warfare phase.1, 2, 3, 4 and whatever are also all steps of many ... leading nowhere. Same with MM phase.1, 2 and whatever it is what we have now. The basic principles of CW is built upon are broken, same way the PSR that MM is using is broken by design. Being able to put a smiley faces on your mech is just the same ... broken by design, and clearly not what people asked for during these 4 years.

Thats right, I'm on the forum, but not on Twitter or any of the idiotic townhalls, so I do know what forum asks for. And 99% of what forum asks for is ignored.
