Whoever thought AC2s needed a nerf is bad, and should feel bad.

You mean, the balance overlord's directive.

That paperdoll's rather squishy I'm told.

I'm afraid you're the one in denial

Look at the Terribads you're playing with, and judge the match again.

"Takes a lot to make him red" as he takes less than 10% damage
Seriously, you realise you need to HIT the robot in order to deal damage, right? Not whiff every other shot.

What does my team have to do with a ACH?

Even with my bad team they still were able to kill off my team with 6 left over on enemy side so their aim must've been good enough but somehow wasn't able to hit lone ACH running lazy circles in middle?

The ACH was still getting shot at even while it overheated and when the video is played in 0.25 speed it shows alot of the shot were connecting but wasn't registering on the paper doll.

Lets not forget either that there was countless posts about hits not registering on the ACH and that it got an update to fix it.

Does anyone else feel this way? I just saw this tweeted to Russ... watch out for Arctic Cheetah nerfs coming up soon! I just thought it was a top light because it didn't get wrecked by the rescale like the rest. Any light pilots care to comment about the OPness of the Arctic Cheetah?

Have you ever piloted them in Solo/Group/CW??

I have a feel that most people who claim a mech as OP dont drop in them. And by the time the comps claim a mech is op and its available for Cbills, it gets whacked by the nerf...but thats another story.

Seriously, AC is fine as is. Its fast...enough, jumps, has EMC which is more valued in puglandia, but is also squishy, HOT, only 8 tons for guns, loses its arms, no real quirks, and will likely get nerfed because bads cant aim and bad light pilots think they are op as well. Thus the Circle of Nerf continues.

Seriously, do 100 drops in an Ac then answer your own question. T5 farming doesnt count, either.

This was one of the few things I really lost my s**t about, back in the day.

1) Guy runs 6ac2 JM6-DD with a staggerfire macro
2) People think this somehow does more damage than just group firing 6ac2 (because they are utter, hopeless idiots)
3) Paul nerfs AC2's. Several times.

... all the while, AC2's where never good weapons.

I didn't take those too seriously, but I guess the intended reaction is to gtfo into cover... but that seems like Lostech. I get that shake is annoying (just like LRMs, but only so briefly).

Math and logic does not compute in the land of Tier 5 (or whatever shamefully low ELO rating that existed then). AC5+UAC5 dakka were always superior forms.

Make no mistake, he does what he does best.

Nerfing already bad weapons to the ground is a hallmark feature... like MGs.

Hard to forget such tragic events.

It bothers me so much more than a lot of the stuff they do, when there's purely reactionairy nerfing because people are crying about something, despite how they are clearly, demonstrably wrong. We have so many outright bad weapons, or hopelessly mediocre ones (see: AC2, and the machine gun for a brief 3 week period where it wasn't good, but didn't suck anymore either) and then, THEN, Paul will jump all over them and break them again, knocking them back into the trash bin.

But we'll have genuinely overpowered and severely underpowered weapons that don't get even slight adjustments for years.

But a mediocre weapon that someone cries about, when they're provably wrong? Oh, THEN Paul will drop the nerf hammer on that s**t like yesterday.

Gah.

Actually, Ill be he ran afoul of someone using that build with the macro that actually doesnt do anything and he got killed by it or something. Cause theres no faster way to get something changed in this game than to attack him with it. "hi collisions"

Face it, the problem is a lot bigger than one light mech being better than all other light mechs. The problem is in the way light mechs are used.

PGI have stuffed lights in a small swimming pool with all other weight classes and instructed everyone that" to use a light mech; you sneak behind ppl and troll the F**k out of them, then run round like a chook with it's head cut of so fast they cant aim at you, trolling the f**k out of them even further".

This game would retain a lot more new players if this "trolololol git gud" light mech mentality ceased.

As for the hotshot light pilot aces here who are all saying "nothing wrong with my mech, has to be everyone else being terribad and can't aim" and "can't help bad's".... Sometimes, when it's "Everybody Else", it's not actually them that is the problem, it's you...

No wonder this game can't retain new players, and is losing old ones day by day, the light mech trolling needs to be fixed. Nerf it into the f**king ground!

SMH

Make a choice, you want to keep running light mechs this way and trolling new and old players alike into rage-quitting eventually sealing your'e own fate(nobody is going to want to play this game against you, and eventually you will be the only ones left playing).

Or do you want to give up your crutches and allow new players and old alike to have a good time, hence retaining new players who try the game, and older players who might not be as good as you at twitch FPS gameplay?

More than once a light mech has made me walk away from MWO for a good deal of weeks or months. I like Btech so eventually I always come back, but Russ needs to think about this good and hard; How many new players will come back after a light mech has trolled them into switching off their computer?

It doesn't matter what Tier you are in, fact is that player numbers are so low now that you are dropped with ALL other Tiers, this includes the NEW PLAYERS. think about what you are doing to the game and the community.

Maybe people should learn to not rage quit and think people are trolling them when they are simply playing the game...

Why would they bother when they can just go play a different game that they enjoy more?

Because they will just think they are getting trolled and rage quit in that game too. Since they obviously rage quickly and think anybody using anything they don't like is trolling.

The point is you have a odd definition of trolling and shouldn't be rage quitting just because you got shot in the back by a weak class.

Why don't you think PGI has released any new light's lately? Could it be they loose a bunch of players everytime a new light mech hits the field PWNING everyone with 900+ scores and multi-kills per match?

Maybe the reason is because light mech packs sell massively lower quantities than other weight classes. Heavies in particular sell the most, hence why damn near every pack is a heavy these days...

One of the key reasons that light mechs sell so few units is because it's a weak class, meaning that only a handful of die-hard specialists even bother to use them.

Or could it be that lights suck and don't sell because of it.

If they were good, they would sell like the Kodiak.
