Your opinion is the floater. The inconvenience is me typing this on a crappy laptop with a 1366x768 resolution monitor. Whoever thought using HD TV panels on computers was a good idea? That guy is a jerk.

Y'all still haven't add that glue-eating SpergLord to your ignore list?

The dude is either a Master Troll or he's literally so stupid that denying him breeding rights would go a long ways to helping humanity.

As a rule, I never add anybody to the ignore list. Censorship is bad, mmmkay?

Besides, how am I supposed to get entertainment from the forums if I add people like him to an ignore list? His kind are the life of the place.

He still has his right to say what he wants. I'm just exercising my right to not pay it any attention. Posted Image

I usually go to Reddit for that. The MWO reddit is tasty.

I don't do Reddit, like, at all. I know, I'm such a luddite (fight me!).

I made a FaceSpace in 2008. Cannot undo. D:

Made a Twitter two weeks ago, solely for asking Russ questions.

Twitter is useless, i can't yell at pleabs in 180 characturs! Wastebook is...well a waste.

But ruffling Russ' feathers has always been a good time.

sigh... where is the kill switch for posts/threads that just won't die... (unlike the light mechs, they seem mostly dead already)

I have not used facebook since around 2008 and I've never used twitter Posted Image
Also, is there a spider meme for any life situation?

Mechs should not be balanced to take in account Lag-shield/warping,
Why? because its not a one way street, lag happens both ways, for both involved,
just because you have a good ping and their ping is very high doesnt mean they can shoot you but you cant them,

if they are teleporting about you, just imagine how it must be for them, but they are also moving 150kph,
ive had many times in the past lagging out and teleporting suddenly i break one of my legs on a bump,

also if your experiencing so much lag so often then perhaps you need to get a better connection,
im running on BrightHouse Basic Internet, on a Toshiba Satellite L875D, and get 30-130ping,
i only get +600ping if their is a problem with my Traced Route, at that point its not PGIs fault,
also why bring up my computer, i play most days at 15-30Fps, & dont experience much lag,

This. Think it's hard to hit someone rubber banding, when you're the pilot at high speed it's downright disorienting. You're not just aiming at something that bounces around, YOU are warping around. It's extremely difficult to do anything at all in that case.

To cause rubber banding on someone you're shooting at, you need pings over 400ms (that's how far HSR goes). A light at 150kph with 500+ms ping isn't a threat to anyone, unless he's a Jedi.

Is this warping due to the Light's ping or due to the Light or Assault's bad computer?

A crappy computer doesn't cause warping.

That's simply untrue.

I saw a ACH with 700 ping take down 5 Mechs in a match. (I posted a thread about it at the time.)

A warping Light Mech can still easily hit slow-moving assaults and heavies. The slow-moving assaults and heavies however will find it very very difficult to hit the warping Light.

It's not hard to work out why this is when you consider the target's lateral speed location has the biggest bearing on whether a shot will connect in a situation where warping/lag is at play. Any weapon with a duration (ie not pinpoint damage) will splash damage over the area where the target moved through. The Assault/Heavy are larger targets and therefore occupy a bigger part of the area where the weapon delivered damage over time. They also move more slowly through the target area, absorbing more damage. The Light Mech occupies a smaller part of the area where the weapon damage was delivered, and also moves through - perhaps completely out of - that area where the damage was delivered.

Hence, lag disadvantages slower and larger Mechs far more than smaller and faster Mechs.

I can honestly say, in every instance i've suffered warping in my MWO "career", the faster I've been going the more insanely difficult play has been, because your whole perspective jumps. If your trying to run around someone, it's nearly impossible to keep track of what direction you're pointing in, and avoid running into obstacles (like buildings!) or maintain any kind of situational awareness.

Maybe guy you witnessed was just really, really practiced with it, or was just really lucky, but my experience is that once warping happens, it's not a little bit: you're not just having a tough time aiming accurately (see: do you spread fire on that Awesome?) but instead making huge jumps in direction, facing, and location.

At 150kph in a rapidly turning light you can cover a lot of ground and turn an awful lot in half a second+.

Guess i am one of the lucky few who dont regularly meet those lagshielded lights. Only time rubberbanding or warping happens to me is when 2 mechs collide. Some funny results like hovering far above the map for a short time. But other than that i am blessed by the ping god.

You are not one of the lucky few. You are among the normal many.

I get just below 300 on NA and 300 on EU, and rubber banding lights are really uncommon - I see people shooting legs off of the new super big lights all the time without issue, lasers, pinpoint weapons, srms, they all work.

Invincible lights? OP arctic cheetahs? Anyone can tell you how easily they fall if more than a few mechs notice them and start shooting back

If rubber banding is happening, I press Tab, sure enough, either the light himself or I have a big ping spike, which usually clears, or one of us ragequits.

It's usually me rage quitting if I get 1000+ ping and it doesn't subside. (Warrants calling the ISP and asking him what the **** is going on)
