Something is definitely wrong here. What's your CPU? MWO is fairly CPU intensive, as I understand it.
Edit: The 1070 is actually more powerful? Wow

Don't worry to much as other games will use your video card more than you CPU.

PGI is not investing much in optimizing the game.. if at all.
An engine upgrade is more hassles waiting to happen. It isn't the magic panacea for everything.
I still think the issue is with the NVidia profile (need to force max performance to be sure).

I would rather them work on upgrading the game engine than waste another minute on CW (FW).
Will it be the end all be all solution? Of course not but if they can do it and receive regular updates and optimizations from Unreal or CryTech it will help reduce some of their workload and get rid of other things like scaleform and what not.
It's been hush hush now for a while so I bet it's not going to happen Still it was a bad choice to stick with DX 9.

The only thing that improved was the frame drop when you shot into the dirt, that particle system dropped my frames down to 10-14 with the old card. This is now gone but it seems the 1070 is bored with this game, at least on that resolution.

24 mechs plus all the particles I'm sure you'll see your FPS chug in online matches randomly and scratch your head. For example go run the mech academy basic training video and turn off vsync then watch your FPS go from outerspace to 20 or less FPS when they fly into the map. That same issue pretty much happens each time the other 12 mechs get in your draw call range. I know I am getting close to people in MWO when I see the FPS dip

Right now only my CPU is liquid cooled and I plan on building my own custom loop and liquid cooling my Titan X (Pascal) later this year.
A system like this shouldn't see such huge FPS dips and it just shows the age of the engine and lack of optimization.
