They are impressive... particularly compared to the +2.5% xp for the hellbringer... if you keep all 8 pods. *facepalm*

Its consistent though as none of the existing hellbringers have any quirks beyond that xp bonus. Same as with jenner IICs, HBK-IICs, stormcrows, or dire wolves (except for the +3 JJ one on one variant, and the -2 Head armor on the two variants with head energy hardpoints).

I looked at the Cataphracts quirks and thought, CHRIST! why can't my Victor have quirks like those ;)

Seriously pgi streak quirks? Noone uses Streak 2s. They arent worth putting on compared to srm 4s or 6s so its really a wasted quirk. The stalker also got nonquirked as accel/decel/turn 10% is pretty useless on.something that slow with a low engine cap. The cataphract seems good. So ya useless quirk on blackjack and stalker getting shaft is what I'm seeing. And anyone saying ecm beats quirks your quirks dont get countered by tag, bap, narc uav and enemy ecm. Some generic quirks would have been nice but instead its a weaker 3f with ecm. All ecm does on an assault is keep lrms off you but ince you are spotted you are still the size of an assault and that ecm is useless.

I think a few yes, but they will be toned down before it is widely available.

And again...its consistent with the patterns for the mechs...

The stalkers by and large aren't very quirked. Only three of the six existing variants have any engine quirks. As to the blackjacks, one of the existing variants has an AC/2 specific quirk so this one having a S-SRM2 cooldown quirk shouldn't be unexpected given the lore build for the variant. The loyalty mechs last year weren't particularly overwhelmingly quirked either. Most of the appeal to these variants are the cbill bonuses, the exclusive camo/colors, and the new hardpoint variations.

And yes actually...ECM capability in the heavier weight mechs is why they're less quirked. The Hellbringers can all be setup with ECM thanks to swapping omnipods so none got quirks. The Cata 0XP and Atlas D-DC have generally lesser quirks than their brethren.

As to no one using S-SRM2s... actually a lot of us do in fact use them on IS mechs. Several of my assaults and heavies run them. They're perfect as a low heat solution for dealing with light mechs when actually hitting them is the goal. My cyclops Q has quad SRM6s for pulverizing slow things, and triple S-SRM2s for hitting fast things. Nothing is gonna stop someone from putting quad SRM6s on this blackjack... they're merely doing so without any extra cooldown bonus.

I just started to play MMO after over 1 years break and was thinking to buy some additional mechs and grab the bonus.
So far i already have the mc and clan reward. I have timber and kodiak, what would you recommend me to buy to efficiently grab the other bonus mechs?

Welcome back!

Hopefully you got the Collector's Pack for the Kodiak - if not, go upgrade that. then, you only need 1 more Clan Collector's Pack for the Top Tier Clan Reward(s). I would recommend the Night Gyr if you like Heavy 'mechs or the Huntsman if you prefer Mediums.

Next, the Inner Sphere. Either the Resistance II Mauler Pack for 1 of each weight, or the Warhammer & Marauder Collector's Packs. Both come to $80 and I'd personally recommend the Resistance II just for the variety it offers, though the camo & colour unlocks help Posted Image

About the Clans:
So only the collection edition of kodiak counts toward the programm? I guess than i will buy the huntsman. I already have the spirit bear, was thinking in buying the hero version of the timber instead of the kodiak collection.

Any collectors edition counts towards its respective clan/IS reward.

What he's saying is that if you haven't upgraded your kodiak pack to collector's then that would knock out one of the two.

For clan, consider the linebacker as well, a very fast heavy, though i admit that as its not out yet its hard to compare with the night gyr... the gyr may be a nice counter-point to your timbers though as they are slow but have a bit more tonnage/podspace and some favorable mounts on torsos and heads...

If you want to qualify for 2016 you need to do so fast, the window closes Tuesday, i believe...

Yeah, no. Those quirks are in line with what the other Summoner variants already have, yet you don't see them in huge numbers now. I mean, I know I'm gonna be using them first out of all the things I receive, but that's just me and my love for perceived mediocrity

The new summoners will poptart with all high mounts.

It used to be that old, vulnerable SMN-D left arm, even a scrub like me knows to shoot off, but with loyalty pods, everything's going to be nice and high.

It's going to be a pain in the *** to kill them if they retain all quirks.

I'm no Stalker pilot, but the thing was always a good 'mech, superb hitboxes, great firepower potential, high mounted weapons, amazing tonnage, only things it didn't have was speed and ECM.

Now it has ECM, it just doesn't have speed...Tell me why it's gonna be bad because of the lack of quirks?

I don't see many stalkers around. Maybe it's because people don't realize how superb this mech is. Even Mysery have some weapon quirks but this one have nothing.
