Actually, in the original lore the cockpit was in the chest, so this could happen?

Torso Mounted cockpit is Jihad Era stuff, and basically useless.

Cyclops was originally a dedicated command mech, that's why it has long rotating neck and huge "eye", so both the mechwarrior and the commander sitting at the Command Console/Battle Computer can see the battlefield if needed.

PGI successfully negated one of it's main features by making it neckless..

Does the Commander not have the same compressed 360 degree view of the battlefield as the Mechwarrior?

Head mounted laser hardpoint, where art thou? I mean, as impractical as it would be, a laser eye would be badass. Even if it would damage the cockpit, oh well, Fashionwarrior Online.

I do believe the head mounted laser is visible right there under the lone eye on the cyclops head.

The hero mech, which is the one in the picture, is supposed to have an energy hardpoint on the head according to the chassis variant details on the store page.

None of the other variants have head hardpoints though.

You guys missed his point.

Because you can't put two gauss rifles in the ST of an IS mech, PGI only models the ONE. So no matter what other weapon you put in your side torso, the Gauss will go in the first one, and the other smaller weapon will go in the second one. So no, you can't put in a machine gun and prop up the Gauss.

ChapeL said:

that's assuming the weapon won't be hardcoded to go into the lowest slot

I know they might still pull a PGI on us... we'll see next Tuesday.

Of COURSE I am, but a firebreathing cyclops is too much to pass up. I use to build my Misery that way, too, but decided to just forego that in favor of a kissyface:

That's a weird gif to convey the "That's the most amazing thing I've ever seen, Dawnstealer, and will be implementing it immediately" emotion.

Bit of a shame there that it's not shooting the laser from its eye.
Would be cool.

Not only do I want to make this. I then want to drop against you so they can make out while firing point blank at each other...

You are all welcome! Enjoy that image in your minds eye for the rest of the day!

Haha, I'm so glad to see the "Eye-rony" joke made it over from concept art to final release! Can we expect to see more of the text jokes on concept art camo to carry over in the future? Was always disappointed when that never made the jump...

In essence, the Commander does not need to look outside a window when all the buzz about the cyclops had been that it's advanced Tacticom allows the commander essentially play Mechcommander with it's troops.
I can't fathom any battle situation where a collection of every sonsory data your troops got would be less preferable than a look out of the window.
Or: when the battle is at a point where you lack the sonsory data feed of your troops, you don't need a commander anyway :)

@pictures: somehow the paintjobs look pretty bland and bleached out. AND... pixellated. Lowres-Textures ftw. Would've been pretty cool to add some kind of metallic glow to the eyes of the CE-camo or at least to the Sleipnir-printings, giving them the look of imprinted Mithril.

When I look at my Marauders or Warhammers, these camos simply pale in comparison. Not by the artistic idea, but the way it is implemented.

As a person who has crewed and commanded armoured and light vehicles in combat, i can tell you that while gadgets are nice, but there is no substitute at times for eyeballs, and gaining 360 spatial awareness!

On that note, i named my jackal one of my tours "Sleipnir" (try not to puke) but it was cool having it stencilled on the side! So this mech has personal interest for me, i love the paintjob. I am sure you will be able to change the colours so you can get more gold. Posted Image

Did they change the hard points on the CP-11-A?

It looks like it has missiles in the right torso instead of ballistics.

Eye-rony.
Irony.
It's a joke.

(also isn't Dio's name spelled "Ronnie"?)

The SRMs from the CT are covering the Gauss in the RT.
