Well...when I do the above in my Cyclops Q...with the 4xSRM6 and 3xStreak-2... it tends to give those pygmies an aneurysm...

@All: Am I just incredibly unlucky or are Cyclops almost extinct on tier 5? I have now played 23 matches since the even started. Unless I made a mistake somewhere I have seen a grand total of 9 Cyclops. 4 in my own team (and naturally I did NOT shoot at them ). Out of the remaining 5, 3 survived their battles so nobody on my team got KMDD. Out of last two, I scratched one (I think) and the other was killed without me even seeing it.

Gonna disagree with the people complaining about the kill a cyclops objective. Think it was a great idea and created some interesting moments and dynamic game play. Id like to see it back again (always Cyclops... jk). Maybe some more event objective experiments too that create dynamic game play. Nice alternative to march forward and kill whatever I see first (or camp and die as my teammates usually go for xD).

As usual, the pointlessness of the matchmaker shows through (otherwise its wholesale group farming of willing victims), when a russian Tier 1 account holds Top 3 position in EVERY cyclops variant, with 3000+ scores. My BEST game so far, was a 1023 damage with the Cyclops Z, 3 solo, 3 KMDD, 6 Blows & Assists, lived and won. 68 pts for the damage, 90 for the solos, 60 for the KMDDs, 60 for the blow/assists, 20 for win with survival. That's 298. Ten of those games would give me 2980, enough for 2nd on that variant currently. Now to do that SIXTY times... in only a couple days of event running... well gee... color me suspicious.

Not gonna totally jump on the conspiracy train here, but Dee Eight brought up an interesting point with scores. The score shown earlier is a great score, but imagine two teams in group queue with a mutual agreement. If two groups agreed to allow someone to farm them then it could be rigged. Outside communication is readily available through TS and other sources. It is totally possible to rig a game without arranging it in game.

Lets see who persists to be on top...

I have done this entire event solo, i grouped once, but not in a 'clopz and after all the challenge swag was earned...

I wanted the top dudes twitch for about an hour as he was using the sleipnir. He was doing quick play and his matches ranged from 1k damage to 23 damage and quick deaths to surviving the match sometimes a win or a loss.

I was surprised, but I also think that yes he is good, but not all the opponents played like tier 1 opponents. But it was quick play, not sure which server region.

I also checked out those accounts that are for sale. Someone posting about dudes making a new account to see it perked my interest. The only one I saw with a price tag was a 50+ mech tier 1 with load of MC and Cbills eith a price of $60. The others are DM for price... not sure what they are asking.

mechpack buyers with their shiny brandnew mechs have always been primetargets to me and i believe many others. Its so obvious that even pgi aknowledges it now, and this specific personal challenge section will hardly change a thing ingame.
only meckpack owners will deny that ^^

also i had a good laugh when reading it on the tournament page, thanks for that pgi.

Im only playing Cyclops atm, i have absolutely no problem with that.

I'm with Movintraget why cant we just have a solo only? people would ***** yes but we do anyways. I just want to see what would happen board wise. you could still do alt account seal clubbing but i think it would get rid of a few groups or players that "agree" to farm each other.

I'm oldschool, no cheating, macros, agreements or whatever. I even dont know how to use macros for chatting, but how you can see, im fine with the tournament

If you're talking about prtN_spz, he's streaming on twitch. I just watched a couple of his games, solo drops. Last one was almost 1000dmg (970something), 6kmdd, and he's like "i'm not sure I like this build" and goes to mechlab.
This guy is really good.

I don't know that any of these guys are cheating, and i am sure some of them are very good.

It would just clarify things if the event was split for solo and group play. The approach is really quite different.

Oh, and make it that if you win top 5 you forfeit the ability to change profile info for 6 months for your "victory lap" in case there are account sellers...

This there a difference when the mech are not available for everyone. Event uses mech Cbills

That is Proton. And yes, he is consistently one of the best players in the game, perhaps even the best.

And no, he doesn't cheat. In fact, he posted an anti-cheater video that was instrumental in PGI taking action to ban cheaters.
