Yup I missed last year because I broke my ankle so I know the feeling man. I was surprised air travel was so cheap! I got a round trip for $353! Ticket was $54 USD and the hotel had a special on the website even better than what mechcon site said! $87.00 per night my total hotel reserve was $169.00 USD. So roughly it's gonna be about $600-$700 to go which I think isn't bad.
Hope things work out for you and I get to meet you!

will not be attending.
I am not spending any more money on this game, or events surrounding it, until they actually make progress...and Power Draw is a regression, not progress.

Look I'm not happy with the current state of affairs either. I'm going to go because one I've never been to Vancouver. Two I'll get to meet fellow mechwarriors get some signatures and some BATTLETECH merchandise.
At the same time I'll be looking and listening to what PGI has to reveal for MWO and if I don't like it I can finally say I gave them many many chances and the game is just not for me. Cut my losses and move on. There are many things in MWO I do like. The art team is wonderful and sadly the only thing I can praise anymore. I'm looking for two things new engine or upgrade announcement and PVE (standalone with p2p coop). Added bonus would be they announce my well known "mental issue" the Mad Cat MK II it would make for a good self birthday gift since my birthday is in December, but it's eventually going to be released anyway and won't address my long standing concerns.
So if you can go you should go PGI isn't the only thing there.

I want to go because:
1) I want to meet so many ForumFolk I've spent the last four years talking to here; put faces to usernames. I'm an oldschool guy, and while I'm pretty introverted, I've never been a big fan of internet anonymity. Nice to know people are real people
2) I want to meet Russ and Co. Whatever my particular thoughts of the game today, I've loved MWO for a long time and really enjoyed myself with it.
3) I'm a west coast boy, spent some 16 years living in Vancouver. Also handy that I can stay with friends while there and save a buck while visiting them too
4) I'd love to meet the HBS and CGL guys. Really stoked to see how things are coming along with Battletech in both video and tabletop form.
5) Because it beats the high probability of otherwise doing nothing of note on my birthday =)

Why are you mad at Gyrok? He has no control over what PGI does. Gyrok isnt the reason PGI's Big Stompy Robit Game is 4 years behind on development.

I'm still trying to figure out if I need to bring money for the merchandise there or if I can take the easy safe route of using my credit card. I hate to carry chunks of cash on me but I'm going to for sure be buying stuff! I'm packing light to come home heavy!

Would be a birthday gift to me as well. Won't place any bets on it though. Diamond Shark will never get the recognition it deserves.

he's mad. because he repeats the same thing over and over again, as if we did not hear him the first time.
Anyways I will catch it on twitch. Have fun for anybody that's going.

If I could, I'd go there to see HBS and their Battletech game. Hopefully they will have another demo up and running. Would be interesting to see the relative level of excitement generated by the respective companies. That might be worth the price of admission.
Unfortunately I believe I will be in Phoenix that date.
