The toxicity of this community is a myth created by old gamers who have very limited experience with other gaming communities or perhaps even online communities in general.
I beg to differ - I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. I've seen Warlocks, screaming about a minor fear nerf; I've seen the Mage forums burning in a perpetual fire of incompetence-fueled rage; I've seen Shaman tears glittering, as the Mages were given the one thing Shamans begged for - during the
Shamans' talent review.
All those moments will be lost... like tears... in rain...
And I'm not fracking old, I'm seasoned!
That being said, the community is rather exceptionally good - I've had several people in the New Player help tell us that. It's the toxic minority who view
everything PGI does as bad now, and go out of their way to post needy, bitter vitriol on every announcement thread that people are talking about - and it's really not correct to attribute that to the community as a whole.

I can't blame the new white knights, I was like that once.
The game has so much potential when you first get in...but 4 years in, and having an arguably inferior product...that changes attitudes.
He'll fade, in time. It took me over a year, and he's new.
Irrational people can
argue for anything - doesn't make it reasonable.
PS: making up slurs to poison the well against anyone who disputes the prevailing winds from Salt Island isn't reasonable either - unless you count being manipulative.
