Now, I'll have you know, the Mist Lynx is a wonderful mech that doesn't need any buffing. I mean, look at the damage and kills I got with my highest score matches in my Mist Lynx A lore build! Absolutely ridiculous!

Its pretty ironic that the Mist Lynx is called the Koshi by DCMS troops in lore because it was "Small Death". Maybe DCMS troops had a sense of humour?

While I agree that there should be more than 1 of any mech per weight class, just how many 20-40 ton mechs are going to differ in loadout and be VIABLE in this game?

True, but the more mechs Alex designs for MWO the more mech models they have for the proper Battletech game which is sharing the mech art. As far as I'm concerned I just hope he has time to give them all a makeover while this game lasts, whether I use them here or not.

This is the orthographic view intended for the modeler... the modeler should see it clearly from all angles... even if that means no bent knee joint at all.

The final stance is decided by the modeler and animator according to the concept art (which we have yet to see)

Was really hoping for more light mechs. Posted Image
Bushwacker is still cool (one of my favorite IS mediums), but I'm starting to wonder if we will ever get any light mechs again at this rate. They probably don't sell well, so PGI has little incentive to make any.

My thoughts exactly, and it honestly makes me pretty mad.

I hope the stance in the animations is low at the very least.

Honestly the height of the torso is what's killing it for me. The legs should be fine, but that torso just seems pretty tall for a bushwacker.

Hopefully the full concept art will prove me wrong, but we shall see.

If only they could share those designs with IWM metals, or there was some way to purchase the designs (I'm pretty sure there is, but IWM is too cheap), so we don't keep having to deal with the absolute crap that is battletech miniatures.

You could do 3AC5s with XL250 and have 4 tons of ammo + whatever you get if you shave off extra armour. It's not fantastic, it's a bit too close to the danger zone.

You could do an XL 255, and 6 tons of ammo, with an arm stripped completely and some armor removed from the legs, other arm, and head.

I can't see how it's the Bushwacker, but if it is. . . . Hmmmm, boy, I'm going to jump for holy joy.

What about now? CT/cockpit section is pretty ugly right now, though. I imagine the mid section is a very long slope.

I doubt a 3053 mech will make it into a 3025 game.

There is no doubt about it. It's the Bushwacker.

The waist section needs to be trimmed down considerably. The puzzle picture has the torso elevation all wrong. Side profile is a whole other matter...hmmm

I will say that this thing could potentially have pretty decent hitboxes. The CT looks pretty thin from the front (although perhaps too thin compared to more traditional Bushwacker designs), and the STs look like they'll be pretty small from the front as well, so could end up playing similar to the Stalker in that you kinda just stare at people because from the side, your STs are so easy to hit.

Too bad all the hardpoints look pretty low (aside from the left torso missiles, which doesn't really matter). Looks like the MGs are around the same area as the CT lasers, and I'd have a guess that all other ballistics will be mounted down there as well.

Pretty curious to see what quirks it'll get. I hope they make it the tough-as-nails ground pounder mech that it should be.

I have to assume it was the infantry that named it, because that's all it's really good for killing.

I wish I could believe this but... in the past, this has not been the case.

Camo aside, I really like how this looks. It's definitely a bit bulkier than I remember from MW3/MW4, but that goes for most of PGI's redesigns. Hitboxes are what I'm curious about.

Okay, that looks MUCH better than the orthos suggested.
