On the bright side, one of the variants with MWO-tech has 8 hardpoints, so that seems like a probable HP count across the board.

If the side torso MGs are mounted decently high, I guess you could make a 2 UAC/5 ridge poker with 2 ML for backup. Don't say Shadow Hawk, because the Shad has to use a STD engine for that (which isn't that great for a medium mech due to limited tonnage). The Shad is also cursed to never have good quirks because it used to be sorta-meta a few years ago.
That's really about it.

That depends on your definition of "mediocre".
Me, I'll probably be more than content to run it stock.
Edit: Either way, the inclusion of the Bushwacker would mean a jump in the timeline, which I very much dislike.

it would be much cooler if they would actually make the mechs less twist capable and compensate with accel/decel rate or maybe a better turn radius. that would be interesting and add some variety.

As per the Kodiak and Maruader IIC, PGI is going to make up their own variants so that they don't have to add any new equipment to the game.

Making up their own variants? Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit because that opens up pandora's box. What's to say they're not going to invent and introduce new mechs?

My interrest in MWO is dying. Energy Draw being so boring and Solaris free for all mode ain't anywhere on the horizon.
Haven't touched MWO much in 2 years. I've played maybe 10-15 matches this year.....probably less.

PGI variants have been a thing for quite a while. It started with taking canon hero mechs and giving them non-canon loadouts, and then eventually non-canon heroes, and then finally non-canon normal variants.
I think PGI still has plenty of gundams from the future timeline that they can put in MWO using old tech, so I don't expect any truly new gundams within this millennia.

On the other hand, I'm glad it's a medium and not another danged heavy or assault. And I have grown to really like the Bushwhacker over the years as a "trooper" mech.
On the other other hand, it's another 55 tonner. And it's a little bit further ahead in the timeline than I would like.
I don't know. I skipped MAD-IIC out of disgust for it being another assault when we need lights. But I want to support the 'Whacker. I guess if I had some sort of assurance from devs/staff that they do intend to release more lights, I would be more comfortable buying it.

I'd buy the Bushwhacker if I had some assurance we'd get another light soon. I am a bit of a Bushwhacker fanboy. But I simply refuse to give PGI any more money until they give me a new light 'mech to play with. It's totally ridiculous that we've had 13 'mechs added or planned to be added to this game and not a single one of them is a light. I want to buy the Bushwacker, I do, but I'm not shelling out any more cash until I get a new light 'mech.
