No it's not.

I stand corrected... I have to sheepishly admit I've thought the Bushy was Clan tech all these years. Posted Image

Still don't like it. Posted Image

Honestly, I REALLY want to buy it just because of my nostalgia+my whale status. But I also hate what PGI is doing with most of its updates, like ED and the minimap, and am also having money issues IRL. So I'm stuck trying to hold back from buying it and a late purchase of the Night Gyr. I have too much of a soft spot for shiny mechs.

See the FASA logo from first picture? You can't get more Battletech than that. They are similar to the Bushwacker featured in MW3 and MW4, so I count them as official. Current art is too distanced from the concept to my liking.

when in doubt about "official", I tend to lean toward the official miniatures...

which shockingly (and thankfully) leans on the 3058 cover art, and not the shroom fest pool of vomit found inside it.

Ah yes, because IWM is really good at their job.

well, as good as the generally crap quality illustrations Btech has generally existed on for decades, allow, anyhow.

I do wish they would "Alex-ize" the whole stable... he does a great job of keeping the aesthetic cues of each design but generally making it NOT look like a pile of crap. When Plog and others were hired to redo the 3055, 3058, etc, they were hamstrung by being tied too closely to the original art.

A pity.

By Bushwackery I meant something like this.

Alex's art is too generic. Bushwacker's arms should be wide-spread, not that clumped up Linebacker knockoff Alex drew up. I'm gonna take a look at it from different angles before reaching definitive verdict, but for now, I am disappointed with the Wacker's artwork by Alex.

Whole heartedly agree... the concept looks very cramped...

Do I have to recite the Remembrance or resign to bondsman in order to make this right? Posted Image

Hey Mr. Plog still worked miracles.

Either way they are redoing a bunch of the art, but even some of that is... well, you can see for yourself:

Yeah the original is horrible, but this isn't much better. I think it would be okay to completely redo some of the original art.

No, there are already enough IS 55toners. We need some more 20, 25, and 40 ton mechs.

Bushwacker has always been one of my all time favourites...
The one mech i would have bought without thinking.... a couple years ago!

but now, I... I'm not so sure... PGI has made it very hard. All these low value mech pack this and mech pack that every month. All these mod-team level micro adjustments.... uncertain outcomes of Energy Draw.
This frustrating championship tournament.
The invasion of brain-deads flooding the gameplay (some call them new players)

I never could have thought of a day I would pass on the bushwacker.... but right now, at this moment... I'll pass!

IDK, the preview of the Bushwacker shown here indicates it has a pretty obvious weak spot.

No, because I will not spend anything more on this game until major and salient changes of leadership are made. Because reasons that everyone already knows.

Sorry but I don't believe you. No one new hears about or cares enough to try this game. The only people left are people that feel they are invested in it or remember a time when it showed potential. Though I will say if it did happen, anyone new who decided to hop into this game now must be truly braindead indeed.

Nope. Game is really turning stale and new mechs isn't going to fix that.

probably not :

- still waiting for some real content and not just mech packs, maps reworked into worse ones and mechanics changes
- not liking the last sale idea of singular mechs. i always think that giving more options will attract more people into buying something
- just bought doom and really have a blast with it :)
