I don't mind dying, so long as I'm able to leave a pretty corpse.

I would totally drop $20 on a light 'mech. Any light 'mech. Even if it's an Ostscout. I am confident in my ability to be able to find something that works out of any chassis. I've never been defeated by a chassis yet, and I make a point to go through what is currently considered the worst 'mech in the game as often as I can to see how bad it really is. 'Mech that came closest to defeating me was the Vindicator, but I managed to pull it out. Oddly enough the trick to is was abandoning the PPCs that it is known for. I've actually been playing my Mist Lynx lately and doing quite well in it. The fact of the matter is right now we have lights that can solo any other weight class in a 1v1 fight, difference being that lights rely on their speed to survive whereas other classes rely on their armor. Different playstyles, but lights are just as viable as an assault, a heavy, or a medium. Sometimes even moreso, depending on the particular 'mechs in question. The same amount of effort goes into developing a light 'mech as does developing an assault 'mech. And let's be honest, if anyone is buying a 'mechpack because they think the 'mech is going to be good, you clearly have a learning disability because many past releases have shown that 'mechs that everyone got hyped about can suck and 'mechs that everyone swore would suck can be awesome. How the 'mech you are buying will perform in-game is an unknown variable that, while you can try all you want, guessing is very difficult. If the 'mech does not speak to you on some other level besides "I think it will perform well", then you are setting yourself up for disappointment if you buy it. So, why shouldn't a light 'mech preorder cost the same as a larger weight class? As I said, the same amount of resources went in to creating it and there simply is no weight class in this game that has a clear and decisive advantage over the other. (anyone who tells you lights are broken since the rescale is dumb. I've been playing nothing but my lights since the rescale and the only one I've run into that I had to change anything about was my Jenner IIC which got its small pulse lasers replaced with ER Mediums.)

Because the Raptor is an IS Light 'Mech that can run at 121+kph while packing 8x Medium Lasers?

It's actually an awesome little bug. Can't swap the engines, but it has massive amounts of room for guns and its omni-pods are nice and varied while also having very few that are throw-aways.

Id rather have the Flea, you know, the one thats 4 years late?

or a Dasher

The only time 'Mechs that should have sucked were good (and vice versa) is when quirks made it so. Otherwise, we've been pretty accurate on determining when a 'Mech would be bad.

That said, a 'Mech being bad doesn't mean much to me. I spent money on the LCT-3V for crying out loud. I just want the 'Mechs I want.

I want all of the above. The Raptor and Locust are both superior to the Flea, though. Dasher, aw yiss.

Or a Locust IIC, though that one is stupidly powerful.

it's everything you could want in a 25 ton light mech, high speed, decent armor for it's size, plenty of room for weapons, and canonically, IS omnis are compatable with clan tech. which is definitely a selling point right there.

I'm not going to sit here and spend time arguing that point with you, but I do agree with your philosophy on buying 'mechs. I don't buy 'mechs because I think "Oh yeah, this 'mech is going to be badass!" because even if I'm right, Paul can and has changed that in an instant. So why do I buy 'mechs? Because I like them. I buy 'mechs that appeal to me on a level deeper than simply "I think it will perform well". I buy 'mechs for reasons such as "I like the way it looks." or "I have nostalgia for that 'mech." or, in the case of lights, "It belongs to a weight class that I have mastered every chassis that currently belongs to it in-game and have enjoyed the hell out of piloting every single one of them."

Wow I never really payed attention to what the Raptor mounted, but after looking it up, I would actually totally drop money on a mech like that. PGI yes pls

I have a feeling PGI is never going to allow mixed tech. Which is a huge shame because it would be such an interesting twist, and would really make the Raptor stand out.

Can our next IS mech be a favorites list that works and doesn't reset itself?

Or do i have to settle with a Hellspawn / Thug?

I don't really care so long as it's a light. I don't want it to be the Flea, but I'll take it. Valkyrie, Stinger/Wasp, Javelin, Mongoose, Firefly would be my order. Don't care about "DOA" or whatever and hearing that a light is coming would guarantee me continuing to purchase other packs as well.

Again: don't care, as long as it's a light.

Who in their right mind would pay 20 dollars for a Wasp or Stinger pack. I mean honestly...that is the worst deal ever, let alone the hero, collectors, and reinforcements. Could you imagine the poor sap paying 70 dollars for either? lol

I'd pay $110 for them IF they could fly and only if. I do good in 20 toners. Light mech pilots rule!

Devastator would be a good mech to introduce new tech with MUSE EARTH hero.

2 Heavy PPCs with PPC capacitors
2 Variable Speed Pulse Lasers
XXL engine
Reactive armor
Compact Gyro
Armored components
Endo Composite Chassis
Supercharger

Not going to happen, I know, but one can dream, right?

LAMs, ew.

No, let's have some class. Crusader, Pillager (some tweaking might be needed), Locust IIC, Wyvern, Crockett/Katana, Rampage, Hussar, and perhaps the Sentinel just for giggles.

I would not buy the Hatamoto, but I'd be very happy to see it in the game. Then only the Axman would remain from the Battletech cartoons.
