Min range on the PPC is idiotic, sticking it on the Gauss Rifle is just compounding the idiocy.

Please, tell me what exactly happens to a PPC shot or Gauss shot to make it do 0 damage when at close range. Give me a proper explanation as to why a metal slug would do less damage at close range than 500 meters out.

Acquire target
Load gun
Check sights again
Aww sad face he's behind cover
Well the only benefit out of ED was the removal of that mechanic. Now ED is 100% fail instead of 90%

I could say anything because this is all make believe anyway. Same answer why random clan and is fight together for no reason other to magically gain cbills.
I get that it may be unrealistic, but you know it's a video game that isn't remotely SIM like. So for the sake of balance, it's the best idea. Why would a weapon all of a sudden need a manual charge and can't be auto or hold it or start during it's reload. That's whats unrealistic.

You're preaching to the choir about the charge-up. But the minimum range is hilariously ridiculous. It's not the "best idea".

Funny part that, TT min ranges aren't "do no damage" but "your odds of landing a hit are drastically reduced."

Could you please send more to the cr4ck3r factory with the salted tops? The ones i've been buying lately have like... 2 grains of salt. I want them covered like sand like they were a few years ago.
Why is cr4ck3r filtered? lol?

Yeah, PGI decided long ago min ranges should be hard min, well except for the most powerful weapon in the game, they just decided to not give it one. And look what we have, ******** bandaids like charge, super long recycle and a max fire amount, yet it's OP and not used at the same time.

Logic? A massive shell leaves the barrel at hypervelocity speed. If you are 5 feet from it or 1000 feet from it, it will hurt you. Don't look at the barrel and wait for the flash.
Actually its a bunch of pixels on your screen, no large shells where involved in the make of MWO.

1) PGI creates Ghost Heat to eliminate high alpha.
2) Players rather quickly determines that Gauss Rifle can still easily be fired with other PPFLD weapons without incurring GH.
3) PGI introduces Gauss charge mechanic in an attempt to stop huge Gauss+Other Weapon Alpha's.
4) PGI creates Energy Draw to introduce a complicated global heat penalty (a.k.a ghost heat) that cannot be circumvented as easily.
5) PGI removes Gauss charge mechanic from PTS since, with the draw of firing two Gauss, you can't really fire other weapons a the exact same time,
6) PGI announces Gauss charge being re-implemented despite the fact that ED is meant to curb Alpha's, including twin gauss + extra weapons combos.
