ya sorry OP but the Hellhound just dosent have an ECM varaint,
which means it will be inferior to the HBK-IIC as it has higher mounts ect,

if their not Canon people dont take kindly to them,

Lol

The original artwork of the Conjurer has very high laser mountpoints in the right shoulder, and the MW4 design has cockpit level arm mountpoints. It is also MUCH faster than the HBK-IIC, with more jumpjets, and it comes stock with a standard engine so it would be an excellent starter mech for new clan players who want to get their feet wet quickly.
Furthermore, with how few canon variants of the Conjurer that would work in MWO's timeline, PGI would have to create non-canon variants, with which they could easily make an even more viable mech.

Not actually from MW4
The Pitbull was from the Mektek Mod, which wasn't unofficial.

One of the Mektek mechs did actually make it into Battletech lore, but most have been left untouched. I think the issue is mostly one of legality. Also, most Mektech custom toys seem to have been fluffed somewhere between the late Fedcom Civil War and the Jihad. Even if PGI said they're not going to "Strictly" adhere to the canon timeframe, I don't think that means they're going to throw it completely out the window. Most of the canon Mechwarrior 4 stuff was made for the FC Civil War, so Uziel/MadCat Mk.II/Other-Mechs-From-Way-Down-later-in-the-lore fans will have to cool their jets.

As for the artwork for the MW4 Hellhound? Call it a Hellhound Mk. II. Have it made with shoddy IS parts and sold to everyone and their mother by the Diamond sharks. 'Course, the current BT lore is past the Dark Age, so unless CGL were feeling generous and for whatever reason decided to dip back into the FCCW period, I don't know how they'd cram it in.

Ah I see it would be a problem bringing them in if their is legal issues.

And I can wait for FedCom/Dark Age mechs, their plenty of mechs that can be brought like early Omni's with std engines, just so many options arm to not ignore

2x C-ERLL, C-LB 10X, C-SSRM6, no JJs, and something like 90kph top speed. I've tried, and it's not very feasible in MWO. You end up with not enough tonnage for extra heatsinks or ammo.

It was a brutal build in MW4 since LBX cannons were amazing in that game, and the ERLLs didn't generate that much heat.

But that's such an over-used backstory at this point

Hmm gonna be random thought to improve the build remove cell and replace it with 4 cerml or cspl change the lbx 10 to a cuac10 or dual cuac5 another one 4spl and 2 or 3 srm6 and still have room for ammo and heatsinks

Yeah in MWO terms that would be way better.
Although if the PTS changes go through, keeping it closer to the old build might be better

Yeah, instead of a "generic humanoid mech", it's a "generic chicken walker".
Much improvement.

I think it's best to consider the lore and MW4 creations separate. The lore can be the Wolverine IIC, while the Hellhound will be considered a brand new mech.

There's obviously a lot of discrepancies. For example, in MW4, the Hellhound is presented as an Omni-mech, while the lore simply states it as battlemech.

But in all honesty, the lore version is not that much different from the Hunchback IIC, so what we really need, is the MW4 version. Though I am conflicted as to whether make it an Omni (unchangeable engine) vs battlemech (set hardpoints)

I used to run 2x LBX 10 with max ammo stripping ECM and JJ. But with MWO system, I think I can do 2x LBX10, 4 ER-M, ECM, and JJ. (So I guess, regular battlemech would be more appealing to me with the tonnage flexibility, and PGI hasn't really disappointed me yet with hardpoints location.)

What do you guys think? Should PGI make the MW4 Hellhound Omni or battlemech?

Maybe if you were born farsighted, got cataracts in both eyes, and just took a faceful of pepper spray, then yes, they're similar.

But I tend to think that the LPL- 2MPL - 2SSRM2 with 6/9/6 movement is a far cry from 2UAC20, 2ERML at 4/6/4. Even the aesthetics, where one has a big old gun arm and is very much unsymmetrical, seems like a far stretch from double cannon-shoulders. Besides being two medium mechs with forward-bent knees...

Maybe I'm just speaking out of my butt on that one... I don't know.
