However, only 2 medium lasers leaves it lacking in firepower compared to the commando. Sure it's got speed, but man is it skimpy on the weaponry for a light mech. Going to need a very skilled light mech pilot to take advantage of the jump jets for agility. I hope the devs make it as manueverable and agile as its supposed to be.

He's looking at the Sarna wiki for variants. Right now, that's the 5V (stock), 5D, and 5K versions. Taking those and simply assigning the appropriate hardpoint to each weapon is what he's doing, and it makes logical sense- that's the minimum they'd need to do for each version. It's slightly bigger brother the Venom doesn't show up till 3050, but you could likely strip the standard engine for an XL and get comparable performance out of a Spider.
This is gonna be the 'Mech people curse when it finds it's way up some mountain or over hills while everyone else stumbles through the mud trying to keep up.

I'm hoping it'll have slots for ECM and other equipment to mask a radar signature. I agree it's underpowered but if you can make it as close to invisible as possible this would be a wonderful capture the flag mech.

Yes it definitely needs equpiment slots. I don't want it to replace the Raven in usefulness though (except the Raven can make a nice weapons platform too)

I guess anyone that opted for the Jenner in the Elite founder's pack is no longer able to say they have the most nimble mech on the field,... although witha mere 56 armour points, a Spider pilot will have to be damn careful not to tangle with the superior weapons on the Jenner.

Oh great, just what we need. Another fast light Mech to shoot me in the rear end.

these mechs exist in novels and tabletop, in addition to videogames.
the hands DO serve a purpose in those other mediums.

EDIT: Ah, here it is. Seems it's not working on the main site, but on the forum it works ok.
