Step 1: Become Locust
Step 2: Sit by there legs underneath their weapons so you cant be hit
Step 3: Kill legs till dead

Step 4: Step on Locust

The Omega was 1.5 times taller than 100 ton mechs. These things would absorb so much fire that they'd die faster than an Italian Campaign in the Balkans.

I'm not really a super pusher for quad 'mechs and such but I think quad and tripod 'mechs really should be represented in this game in some form. Most of the super heavy battlemechs are very rare or didnt even leave prototype phase. If we're adding a new type of 'mech to this game I'd rather it be quads and tripods.

Think about it. How fast would you get across the map at that size? 1 Medium laser can kill you? And you are only good when you are ON the enemy mech? On top of that when you are on the enemy mech another mech can shoot you off. Friend or Foe and we all know friendly fire happens a lot in this game Posted Image

In all the games I remember elementals ran at about 64 kph. Those little genetic enhanced doods are fast.

Tripods are Dark Age only.

I'd be down for quads though. They were in MW2.

Probably the same reason they don't add quads and tripods. Too lazy/incompetent to write the code for it.

I legitimately can't get over the fact that their official explanation for LBX being in the state it's in was them losing their ONE coder that knew what he was doing.

Seriously? That's their excuse? If they have no more coders capable of coding the damned LBX cannons then how are we supposed to have any confidence in them being able to code anything else more complicated than .ini and config file tweaks?

Good news everyone, no new content ever because PGI doesn't have any staff capable of producing new code.

IIRC, the guy that programmed the weapons originally either quit or got fired, so they said it would "take time" for them to figure out how it worked again. That was years ago.

So they've actually added clan tech since then? Hm. I guess that restores my faith in them a bit because clan tech was a whole lot of new content when it came. Not saying my faith in them is high by any stretch of the imagination though.

Oh no, it was after Clan tech was released. So, when I say years, I'm rounding up because it's basically the end of 2016.

Clam tech uses the same backend technology Spheroid does

The LBx (or select fire in any form) would be a new (and exciting™) feature, requiring additional, new, code. Not only re-used code.

Oh, okay. Faith lost again. PGI isn't adding new tech not because they are afraid of the balance nightmare but because they have nobody capable of coding it. Good to know.

They don't need my faith to keep going, obviously, you ninny. But they do need competent coders. And from the looks and sounds of things they've lost all the ones they had.

FYI, I don't think jump jets are even available to superheavy 'mechs in canon. I think they're all ground-bound at this time.
