If he'd not hyped up 'new content, not a new chassis' I'd have seen this as mildly positive.

Instead, when I saw what it was, I just felt "oh crap, YAMP, he can't be serious".

At first, when I saw it was yet another mech pack, I was outraged.. then annoyed... then slightly bothered... and then, something occurred to me..

This game has many many things that need fixing, FW being the biggest one. But how is PGI supposed to do that?

They need money and man-hours to do that, and hey, for PGI, money comes - from mech packs.

So let's give them the benefit of the doubt, and hope that if we buy those new heroes (I'm sure many are drooling over them as we speak), they might FOR ONCE use the accumulated money to fix FW, make more maps, and improve the game..

PGI, please, don't fail us..

Call me naive, but I have hope..

Also, Russ, you might wanna invest in a good marketing expert.. just saying..

(somewhere in the PGI offices, upon reading Russ's post, a person in charge of marketing was going "doh!")

I have to applaud Russ on his professional level trolling. Big thread in the forum about content, and are new mechs content. Then Russ posts "new content, not a new chassis!"

Yes. But the fact anyone is surprised by this or disappointed is silly.
Expectation Mismanagement is practically PGI's motto (see also soon^TM, "in 90 days", and "A BattleTech Game").

No, apart from my Warhammer pack, I've never spent money or MCs on mechs. I was referring to HBS's Battletech being scheduled for release next May - the only reason why I still spend time in MWO is because it's literally the only mech game available.

Your community has been begging for the direction MWO is going to go.
You have the answers.
Instead of lowering the animosity by just letting us know what we want to know.
You say come to MechCon! I'll tell you what you want to hear in 90 days.
But until then keep building up that animosity and when the info you wanted to hear isn't what you thought.
I'm going to be surprised at the backlash I'm going to receive and say the community is ungrateful.
Then I'll tell you if you can do better go make your own game and I'll come play it.
