Since PGI has limited resources, at least from what we've been told, there is no way that it wouldn't take resources from MWO.
PGI would have to be hiding secret resources that they never told us they had, in which case I would wonder why they didn't use these resources on MWO...

Maybe PGI IS hiding secret resources, like Comstar?

It is never a question of if, merely of when - probably when people stop buying Mechpacks.

Ah, the fickleness of customers. I want what PGI has no interest in giving, yet irrationally keep hoping that they will. Perhaps if they publicly stated that the game was no longer their emphasis it would be enough to break me of that irrationality and I would then just move on...to HBS's BattleTech, with the rest of the BT nerds.

When pgi puts out a new is light mech then I will spend money on pgi. Their record of failures, lack of communication and feedback, and poor design decisions such as long tom, mini map disaster, insulting the player base with comments like "on an island," "we know what we are doing and don't need feedback." etc Don't get me started on all the time wasted with their "soon" and "90 days"
i'm willing to bet that income from HBS' use of their art assets is making a decent amount of their current operating and profits. After all sooner or later they will just have to invent all new mechs for mech packs and since they already make up their own mechs for heroes and champions that doesn't seem implausible.

I've just been assuming that PGI and/or perhaps Russ personally is an unnamed partner with HBS.

Because PGI thinks they are Comstar?
We KNOW they are using resources elsewhere... where do you think Bryan is, and what do you think he is doing?

Dangit, Bishop. You stole my joke and substitute it with your own clever spin.

IP - Intellectual Property (A made up 'universe,' like Star Wars, or the Marvel Universe)
Transverse - A previous new IP PGI tried to make before everyone made them stop

PGI has soiled any confidence the community has in backing a new game due to their performance here, so the crowdsourcing route of game development is out. If PGI is building a new game/IP off of profits of MWO, that's their business decision. They only have a couple options to get new revenue: develop/license a new IP, further milk MWO, expand on the existing mechwarrior license, or work as a partner/subcontract on other games/ports. And of these options, the MWO cash cow is starting to thin out. PGI needs to do something to create new business before the old business dries up. That's just business.

Bryan made off to some secluded area of the office with the best PGI programmers and equipment. He's also started cloning facilities to create smarter and better programmers than what PGI has ever seen. He'll come back in the future and claim PGI for his Clan so that it can become a great development studio!
