Sorry folks, the listing of the HMN-C UAC Jam Chance Quirk at -3% was an error. The UAC Jam Chance Quirk is actually -15%.

We'll correct the Quick image to reflect this shortly.

Wait... what are all the people who insulted you for "intentionally" giving a 3% jam chance reduction going to do? Take back their insults and apologize for their rudeness?

IMPOSSIBRU!

No, they will justify themselves by saying your typo was a QA failure and that you should stop development of the game so another company can swoop-up the IP and make a new MechWarrior game... 10 years from now.

Spoke to a Designer to give you guys more details:

Here’s the reason why the values changed recently- While we were working on the Huntsman, we did some investigating into the Jam Chance Quirk, as we suspected that it wasn’t performing as we expected it to. We set the initial 3% value, but when we clarified the underlying math, we adjusted it to the -15% you see now. Essentially, the -3% wasn’t the final value, and his since been changed.

And for the record, since there’s a bit of confusion as to how the Jam Chance Quirk works- the value of the quirk is 15% reduction on the base chance, not a subtraction. So we reduce 15% of the base jam chance (which happens to be 15%). As such, the final jam chance with this quirk applied would be 12.75%.

Hope that clarifies things!

All Huntsman variant Quirks operate on the Set of 8 system.

Any chance for patch notes with loyalty mech quirks today?

My competitive experience

LOL I stopped reading here.

So you pilot only a bunch of meta mechs?
do you think the ones who want to pilot any mech and have good results in them and finding the best assets are potatoes wasting thier time?

With this said, E hardpoints in the Huntsman are better than the HUnchie. Three in the torsi, comparing at same level of Hunchie, high in the shoulders.
The arm locations are far better than the HUnchie, much higher... Jesus, those arms in the hunchie are terribad.
Also, the arms can shield, while those ones in the Hunchie: NOPE.

Also, do you know where to put your competitive tryTard actitude? (yea, I know you can have an intuition...since the comp group are quite the 1-2% of playerbase)

Thank you Alexander and Tina for the clarification. Glad to hear the 3% jam chance was a mistake.
I'm rather tempted to get the reinforcements add-on at this point Posted Image
The HMN-C looks pretty nice now.

Also, the size of the HMN seems alright. Maybe alittle on the oversized side, but it's pretty lanky so maybe it'll be fine. I really feel like the Nova is blatantly undersized, though.

Where did I say I only pilot meta mechs? I pilot all sorts of stuff. That doesn't mean I lie to myself and deny when a mech is inferior to another.

Hardpoints better in the Huntsman? Now you are just lying to yourself. The Huntsman can have a max of 4 eye-level E hardpoints. Guess how many the Hunchback can have? 4. wow, they are the same, imagine that, except the Hunchie can bring two more in the side torsos if it wanted, at slightly lower. The Huntsmans shoulders also stick up, higher than the hardpoints, making them easier targets, while the Hunchback's shoulders essentially end with the hardpoints, which is better.

If by competitive tryhard attitude you mean objective analysis of their attributes, then I'm sorry you don't want to hear the truth, I know it hurts. You must really love this mech to be so upset by someone saying that it is not going to be a ground breaking new medium...

I mean I would love to have a Kingfisher but even I recognize its shortcomings, and wouldn't lose my collective **** because someone on the forums says that another mech in game is better than it.

And uhhhh it doesn't look like you have great case for those shield arms..

You could say the Hunchback's shoulder is bigger though, that remains to be seen if its actually an issue, I think the energy shoulders are a bit smaller too. Also, those Hunstman legs are huge, juicy targets.

The Patch Notes won't be arriving until mid-day Monday, but until then I've added the Quirk breakdown for those new 'Mechs in the Loadout Details post here. You can find the Quirks for each underneath their Loadout tables.

About as tall as a Centurion and not nearly as fat. I can live with that. Yea the legs are bigger but most people don't go straight for the legs at the offset of a battle. Seems the arm mounted hardpoints are just slightly lower than the Hunchback shoulder hardpoints. And at least as high as the Hunchback's CT hardpoints. It miiiiight need some structure quirks I don't know. Overall still excited for the mech...and the 6 other mechs I'll be getting from the Loyalty program :D!

Yep. About as big in all dimensions as the Centurion, thought slightly narrower. Can use an arm as a shield for the center torso but not the side torso if you aim higher. Benefit of jump jets which can distort hitboxes when hit. Very thin waist, leaving a lot of air space between the arms and torso - good for screwing with weapon convergence at longer ranges. Still curious what constitutes side and center torso on the pyramid, however.

Anything with the potential for eight ASRM launchers and enough ammo to feed them is automatically disqualified from being 'bad at brawling' in my eyes. It may not be an S-class Supah Champ, dependent on hitboxes, but when you have three times the firepower of your nearest competitor...well. There's something to be said for that. Especially in the medium bracket.

that will overheat and/or shut down after two or three volleys how most clanners use it. hence why it's more likely for the most part to be a better skirmisher. Brawlers and being ridiculously heat innefficient isn't usually a great mix if you plan to live very long.

I'm not saying it can't be done, just that you really shouldn't tell every Tom, Jack and Harry they can in it, least not until they've put some mileage into the Hunt first to shore up that problem. Posted Image

stuff

INteresting.
You missed many points.

1) U couldn't see that HUntsman arms shield CT, while in the HUnchie... are crap.
2) can do gauss/peep, both high mounted, while Hunchie cannot (YOU, comp player, how can you miss that? Posted Image)
3) good that you changed "words": it seemed to me that you were saying Huntsman is bad. Now you stated "not groundbreaking medium". We can agree in this.
4)"If by competitive tryhard attitude you mean objective analysis of their attributes, then I'm sorry you don't want to hear the truth, I know it hurts "
SO, master, why do I have better stats than MOST of "comp players"?
Is it a miracle?
OR, maybe comp player means NOTHING, since everybody can join a tourney...
(congratulation for your season 4, but..... season 3 and 2 you did worse than me.... how's that , master? Posted Image )

5) I'm a comp player too.
The difference is that I never use that argument in conversation.

6) I really and totally love the HUntsman. LOve makes people blind

So a 12.75 vs 15% jam chance and only if I use all 8 pods... ok another quirk not worth building a mech around......

Never tried Gauss/PPC on Hunchie, but you can EASILY to DUAL GAUSS with *VERY* high mounts on it

There was a time I did Boreal Defense with the Dual Gauss build, and could load 8.5 tons+ ammo if I made certain concessions. No, not a universally viable build, but having 4 eye-level ballistics mounts or higher and no fixed engines gives you some fun options.

I am not saying it is better than the Huntsman will be, there may be some overlapping builds but it seems like they are different beasts.
