Title says it all.

Thoughts?

Ummmm disappointment? That is all I have got. Looking at the bright side, it will save me money because I have no interest in buying it.

I don't get the desire for lights. We already have lights that do SRM vomit and laser vomit, what more could we need? dual gauss lights?

I admit, I do want a Fire Moth, but don't really care about any other lights.

For me it seems right that all categories are represented. Many players don't play lighto and that's fine. Some of us love them and want the options the other three categories enjoy. It's that simple.

And no modules again.

The skill tree is changing in December. I suspect there is going to be a major impact on modules and therefore no Mechs that are going to be delivered after December offer modules as part of the Early Adopters Awards.

Well I've Tweeted Russ Asking why PGI seem so against making a new light, as it's been a year, Wondering if I'll get an answer

I don't want to ruin your day but the answer is pretty simple. Lights don't sell packages, in terms of dollar value. Why pay $20 for 20 tons (say if the flea ever came in). When you can pay $20 for a 100 ton kodiak that was way more value in game?.

I would think lights would be released in a tier pack, such as Wave II or III.

However PGI won't be doing any again in a long time. Sad really.

Well I will confirm there will be a light mech or pack of lights before the MK II gets added in 2020 as they unplug the server.

Solaris Skunk Werks.

It's basically the Tabletop equivalent of Smurfys mechlab. It's a pretty useful little app for theorycrafting gundam builds on, although it's constricted by TT build rules (e.g. engine must be a multiple of the mech's tonnage).

Yeah I know what SSW is, I just didn't know what issue McGral was referring to.

What's stopping me is the increased RoF for all weapons over TT rates, but failing to increase heat dissipation. It makes energy assaults really difficult to justify.

Pretty much what I'm thinking.

Loading up a Direwolf with a handful of clan lasers basically just unlocks super-special-ability: brick mode.

Of course this is going to have important energy heat quirks. But I guess we are going to have to wait a long *** time to find out what.

Kodiak = Clan
Phoenix Hawk = IS

Cyclops = IS
Night Gyr = Clan
Linebacker = Clan
Marauder IIC = Clan
Bushwacker = IS
Clan Heroes = Amazingly enough Clan

And before the Archer, there was the Rifleman, Warhammer, and Marauder. :P

Heroes don't really count as a pack is the point...

Convenient to leave the Marauder, Rifleman and Warhammer out as well. I play both sides, but the Clans had to way 4 months in a row without a new clan mech at one point in this new system of releases. Hence why there was 3 months of clans in a row to try and catch them up.

Only work I've checked out of his is reading the entire Knights of Sidonia manga. It was pretty good IMHO.

I heard the ending was a bit of a mess...

At least compared to half the stuff I read, it was a masterpiece. Can't say anything about the anime though, could never get used to that animation style. I'm in a major manga/anime drought sadly, so I don't really have anything to compare it to off the top of my head.

All of Nihei's stuff has weird endings. I'm just sad there was no real twist to KoS and that everything ends so predictably.

Read Zetman? If not, read Zetman.

I'll check it out. Last manga I read was "6,000", a horror about an underwater facility. It uh, gets weird. But it's pretty good if you're willing to laugh at a horror right beside being disturbed.
