PGI has finally made a mech I really don't want, even the base pack.

And I got the Linesman...

What's stopping me is the increased RoF for all weapons over TT rates, but failing to increase heat dissipation. It makes energy assaults really difficult to justify.

Well it looks smashing but that hero mech is blatantly P2W in relation to the other variants... Dual gauss, dual er ppcs 2 JJs, 16 DHS, XL325, endo/ferro with a couple points of armor stripped, all with 6 tons of ammo.

Now I get to go back to calling it the "Supernoob" just like MW4 Merc days because back then, lot of pilots couldn't use anything else.

I remember seeing a good custom mechlab somewhere...where you could select engines from 100-400 and a set tonnage



I can't remember what mechlab that was. I don't feel like Pen and Papering the tonnage and Crits, as SSW is TT construction only.

Well there goes the 90 ton slot... next month is an IS mech... yup I'm extremely disappointed guess I wont have to give MWO any more money.

SSW? What do you mean? You can unlock equipment, can't you?

Either way, I mocked up the dual gauss, dual er PPC build on an HGN-IIC leaving 6 slots and 12 tons free:

I think you actually get another free slot due to having no hands so you can trim down the legs to low 60s and add a TC.

How boring. I guess I'll keep waiting for the Rifleman IIC. Not spending money on any other clan mechs. But even so:
  • 3 hoverjets won't be enough to jump over anything except a medium sized shrubbery.
  • No ECM or MASC.
  • Quite slow.
  • Several variations of energy boating is pointless. People are going to use the same weapon combination anyway. It's not like one variant will be a premium PPC sniper and the other will be a ruthless MPL brawler. They'll all do the same thing.
At least with the Rifleman IIC, you could have a combination of ballistics, energy weapons and missiles. Or go with the Phoenix Hawk IIC if you desperately need another Clan assault. Both canon ballistic, missile and energy variants. XL400 engine and jump jets.


Looks like it's going to be a long while before I buy more mech packs. I wonder what their sales are like.

EDIT: It does look good though. I'll probably buy it for C-bills in 2018. Looks better than the Executioner and Gargles, for sure.

It's not like it's hard to come by that configuration on other mechs, even if not on the other variants of this one.

Specifically with a 325XL and not worry about substracting Crits or Tonnage (from the 360, and engine heatsinks+- 2x slots)

I was so excited about the possibility of a new light. Once again we get another heavy unit. Almost 1 year in this game and not one new light has came out.

Supernova quirk: When the Supernova exceeds 200% heat threshold the mech will explode dealing damage equivalent to the pre nerf long tom.
