I am only new to the game about 4-5 months and i am enjoying it but there are certain elements of the game that are just insane.
Coming from other FTP games the real life cash prices of things for this game is crazy, it costs me about $8 for 1 colour where as in other games you can get an entire pallet of colours for the same sort of money. The camo patterns are well prices if you buy a 1shot but the price of the unlocked again is way over priced so are the decals. The game play is good for the most part just the light mechs seem to break the servers from time to time with hit detection but its still better than having 1 person host as some other games do to save money on server costs.
I dont know why they have to "redo" older maps and take the old maps out of the map list, i miss the old frozen city even if i only had it for a couple of months but it needs to come back.
The social side of thing for this game is crap, why cant they add a all chat in game. this will probably be the thing that makes me leave as its so damn lonely at times playing solo. its nice to have a chat tab to shoot the **** with people, thats how i have found in the past makes a good community not the forums, forums are more for venting.
Despite a few balance issues with the mechs its fun. i like that its more of a slow paced shooter and not another twitch shooter, despite some of the huge alphas that exist that will kill a med in 1 strike.
Despite its short comings and slow progress its a good game, where they need to spend some money is on advertising. If i wasnt looking for it on steam you wouldnt know if it still existed. Also the tutorial sucks fix that ****

Oooooh, a (relatively) new person! Welcome!

I can agree that a general chat would definately help make solo play less if a slog, and we have proposed the idea to PGI before, but... nothing. Still, if you DO need any advice or just want to chat it up about stuff, as long as you avoid hot topics you should be fine and have fun here.

Oh, and a personal question: How much do you know about Battletech/Mechwarrior lore?

Well, if you do stick around and drop in on the forums at all, one of the biggest factors for most of the people I know being here is the lore behind the IP, and I am sure that if you ever get curious about it we'll help you learn more. For instance, a free tidbit before I fall unconscious for the night: Clan Diamond Shark is the best Clan.

http://www.sarna.net...n_Diamond_Shark

TL;DR summary of the link? We are a Clan that is "fondly" regarded to as a merchant Clan. If there are ways we can make a profit, we go for it. Plus, we invented the (current version of the) Iron Womb that all the Clans use. I highly recommend reading up on us sometime.

I'll just say that I have mostly gotten exactly what I expected from the game. I'm not a top tier player, but I have thousands of matches invested, and I neither regret the time nor the financial investment I made into the product. Saying it could be better is meaningless. Everything can be better! The sales model is not a good one, but future promises for current payment rarely is. However, that's on you as a player. If you're paying into something that doesn't exist yet, you'd better be ok with it not turning out exactly how you expect.

If the dev team is reading this, I've had a heck of a lot of fun playing this game solo, with my brother, and most recently, on my first MRBC team, reliving my enjoyment of the Mechwarrior games of my youth all over again. That's all I ever wanted. Managing a game like this is an unending war, and I appreciate all of the effort that you have put forth.

It's good to set your hopes low...that way, you never get disappointed.

There are better MechWarrior games to play online. You don't have to pay for Mechs in them either....
