Now we got the Quirks !!

And I can see so many of them...

Great, the early pilots get the best quirks. In a few months we will see a dramatic decrease in all those quirks !

Something must be funny b/c this is the most quirks I've seen on a clan mech in ages...

Normal par for a new mech in this community, the 5 stages of whine:

1.) "The concept art is stupid"

2.) "The 3D model looks stupid"

3.) "Worse quirks ever! Refund! Refund!"

4.) "First day and I keep dying! Worse hit boxes ever!"

5.) "It's Overpower! Nerf this OP piece of Clan Cheese!"

Scale looks good.
Doesn't seem too small or too large.

That's any game forum for you. Posted Image I think the best you can do is take a meta-analytical approach -- if you find threads claiming the 'mech both sucks and is OP, then you probably got it about right.

Same with maps, with people here whining about too much long-range and too much brawling -- I guess the balance is pretty much right.

No no no, there will ALWAYS be people claiming that something sucks (even if it's OP) and that it is OP (even if it sucks), what matters is the RATIO of people saying that it sucks and people saying it's OP.

When was the last time that they made a mech that needed its hit boxes adjusted because they were bad? The last I'm aware of was the executioner, but that thing had so much center torso action you could shoot it from behind and it would think its getting a reach around. Other than that, I can't remember any.

More often than not, they don't adjust the hitboxes but buff the structure... kodiak and the IIc mechs are an example...

That's what I thought, The hit boxes are generally taken care of well enough that it shouldn't really be brought up as a reason for a refund

well, the other thing with that is they love to ***** about the game mechanics, because it couldn't POSSIBLY be they're just ****** pilots who can't make the mech work. the ones who complain it sucks can't pilot it worth ****, and the ones who get killed by people who CAN pilot them complain it's OP.

Fact is, and always has been in MWO, Tactics, Teamwork and Piloting skill foremost win games.

Dammit, I'm saving my money for the Black Friday sale, but... The Linebacker looks so good. Seriously, maybe it was the angle, but the concept art didn't look too good to me, but the 3D model looks fantastic.

What a waste of a quirk. Machine Gun ROF. Man, that should be a Jam Chance, not ROF.

Personally, I find machine gun jam chance quirks to be useless... :D

I still love the obsession with huge quirks even though the Hellbringer and Ebon Jaguar and I think even the Timber Wolf have none/minimal but are still considered the go-to Clan heavy mechs

because those mechs have enough weight/hardpoints to run effective meta builds. i don't think the linebacker will be bad, but i don't expect to see too many of them after a few weeks.

IIC Mechs? Must be the big ones then, cause I've got some pretty unquirked Jenners and Hunchbacks last I checked... Not complaining, those guys are epic, but they ARE basically walking CTs with lots of guns.

On topic: It does look great, and keeps looking better, but it's easiest if you just keep telling yourself: pod space.

EDIT: How do we know if thosse quirks are REGULAR quirks or Set-of-8 quirks?

On that note, I'm wondering if a Medium in a heavy's frame would be more/less frustrating that a Heavy in a medium's body ( like the Huntsman )

It is indeed! Looks like a bodybuilder midget. (is that an offensive comparison? I hope not)

PS: size looks spot on. I'm so glad there is a scientific approach to size/volume now.

Well, SOMEBODY on the team is definitely obsessed with high-mounted clan Ballistics Posted Image
Dynamic geometry does look pretty good on the Linebacker (even though i'm not a big fan of the shoulder-mounted second missile hardpoint. But whatchagonnado)

Here is an idea for Solaris game mode: Capture the Flag. Only mechs with hands (tiny or not) would be able to carry flags. ;)
