Or they don't care. Nutbars will believe whatever they want, for any number at all. There are some nutbars in particular who think the famous Eighty Eight millimeter caliber guns used for AA and tanks, was arrived at for the same 8-8 derivation as for H-H, when in fact, the 88mm gun caliber had been used in germany since before WW1 (having been a common caliber of naval artillery).

You know that has nothing to do with the relevance of 1488 right?

Or LAMs.

LAMs would be kinda neat.

In MWO they would either be quite unfair, or quite trash. PGI isn't very keen on the concepts of balance that doesn't involve alpha strikes.

Or addressing core problems, such as invisible walls (poptarts used these to see where they were going to shoot and to shoot their prey without being able to be shot, despite all the shots coming at them; JJ nerfs were BLATANTLY unnecessary).

That said, yes LAMs would be awesome.

LAM, for anyone wondering... (or at least the 'source' of the LAM concept...)

But yeah, unlike Quad mechs... MWO couldn't handle them.
Or keep them as rare as they are supposed to be.

Speaking of balance...or not...
The Clan UAC's nerf is not a nerf . They have effectively killed them on the mechs that have limited options
Not so much the Kodiaks and the like with multiple UAC's
The ones that carry 1 or 2 are really screwed...
Yep I know how to use them to minimize jams..I'm all for balance but this is ridiculous...
Another well thought out nerf..

What part of "was arrived at for the same 8-8 derivation as for H-H" made you think I didn't know the relevance of 1488 ?!?

Quick questions to the community, and developers,

When are the proposed changes to clan modules coming? I read that the special edition clan modules were going to be removed. Will you be replaced with non-special modules? Or how will clan wave one early adopters be compensated for the loss?

Upcoming Patch - November 15th @ 10AM – 1PM PDT

Patch Number: 1.4.88

Standalone Client Patch Size: ~1 GB

... Energy Draw itself is currently on-hold however, and may be re-approached in the new year. ...

...

Posted Image

This patch features a number of changes to Equipment and Weapon stats, mostly brought over from or informed by the Energy Draw PTS. Please note that Energy Draw itself is not included with this patch.

Override Damage
• Damage received from Override no longer applies to the Head.

...
AT LEAST HEADSHOTS from Override are no longer possible, but now OVERRIDE is destroying my LEGS, despite the heatsinks I put into them Posted Image

As damage from Override should come from the ENGINE, it should only affect TORSO LOCATIONS and weapons which are used during it !

Weird thing is that the damage display shows you have a blown side torsos, and your legs are in good shape. Did you have an xlin that centurion?

I'm just imagining the leg ammo cooking off but thats more battletech novel territory. ;)

Legs have always taken damage from overheat, only change was that head doesn't take it anymore.
If your engine and weapon locations would take take the heat excluding legs you would have died a lot faster.

And leg internals are in good shape? No wait there are no internal structure left... only armor, which doesn't take damage from overheat.

No XL ... just READ the reason why my Cent was destroyed !
As it still had ARMOR on both legs, Overheat had destroyed all structure inside BOTH LEGS !

I know that legs did take damage from Overheat even before the last patch ... but now after the removal of OVERHEAT HEADSHOTS, legs are the most likley way to die from Overheat ... beside getting 3 critical ENGINE HITS !

It is my opinion that LEG internals shouldnt be damaged by Overheat ( like HEAD internals )

Ahhh I've not overheated from legs once since the change so no they're not the "most likely". I'm assuming RNG is determining the damage location so you've just been unlucky maybe. Heat damage will effect ammo as far as i know (incl. a very quick google search which admittedly was showing info from 2013...) so did you have ammo in your legs?

CANT YOU READ ? Posted Image

It doesnt matter if I had ammo in the legs or not ... IF OVERHEAT WOULD HAVE DESTROYED AMMO, I would have died from a AMMO EXPLOSION !

As far as I remember, I have MG ammo in the right arm together with 3 MG and 3 tons of SRM ammo in the center torso and the head.

I've never had legs, I'd say mine are in the (unscientific) range of about 70% of the time 'engine destroyed' due to overheat ... so yeah, have to agree with Aramuside, most likely the RNGsus wasn't on your side there.

Actually it doesn't say ammo quite often when you die from it....
