We have a decent amount of Aspirants now, things will get interesting once we have enough Knights for the first Trail of the Champion

With this new patch, I will clarify the role that the Order of the Black Phoenix will play in faction warfare. Historically the Oder of the Black Phoenix was created as a black ops recon and infiltration unit and we will emulate this role in our (new) Order of the Black Phoenix.

In faction warfare the Order of the Black Phoenix will:

-Take the shortest length contract with the Great House that is closest to the fiercest fighting.

-Take part in solo or group scouting missions.

In faction warfare members of the Order will:

-Pilot the Phoenix Hawk BattleMech that is appropriate for their current rank.



My comments: I know some of you might have wanted to drop in 12 man groups with four Phoenix Hawks, but that would just be a troll drop and would severely gimp your team. Most of us have main accounts and are part of regular units, so I would recommend that any 12 man drops should be done on your main account with your main unit. Like the What Mech Challenge, the Order of the Black Phoenix will be here whenever you want to play on your Order account, but you are not required to play on your Order account for any specific amount of time. That is all.

I beseech your combined knowledge on a method of purchasing equipment without equipping it to my faithful iron steeds. The intricate ways of the MechLab remain elusive. Your first task is to purchase two more Phoenix Hawk variants (one being the PHX-1B) and pilot those variants stock until you completely master (unlock the last efficiency) the Phoenix Hawk PHX-1B. This will take you a few days at the least. As far as buying the weapons / equipment, you will have to equip them on your Mech and save the loadout to purchase the items and then you go back into the mechlab, remove the new items and put the original items back where they were and then save the loadout again (yes, you will be temporarily modifying your Mech, but there is no other way).

The new Holiday events will be our first opportunity to earn MC in-game, so be sure to complete as many of these events as you can. As usual, you must use the Phoenix Hawk variant(s) that is(are) appropriate for hour current rank.

Little off topic, but I noticed that Metal Militia and myself both posted about wanting to join a team for the 3025 stock mech 5v5 event going on this Saturday. With 3 more guys we could have a full [BLPH] team.

I don't want to derail this thread with too many posts concerning another event, but anyone interested should send me a message on my main account here. Team slot priority would go in order in which I receive inquiries.

If we do get a full 5 lined up, we should probably get together beforehand to discuss composition and practice some drops. I'll be online Friday night for a few hours after 8pm EST and then again around Noon Saturday of the event. My teamspeak info is blueteam.typefrag.com:7970

You are free to pilot your PHX-1, which would be an appropriate stock 3025 Mech. I may join as well if I have my internet back and if I can fit it into my schedule.

Stock PXH-1 is a hard challenge, but really satisfying when once in a while everything clicks and you find yourself leaping above and around an enemy with machineguns chattering and your lasers slowly whittling them down while they can't quite keep track of you.

And then there are the times when you just explode like an explody thing.

News: My Internet is back on, Praise the Black Phoenix! I will be updating the Challenge / Event over the next few days and I will get caught up on unit invites and promotions as soon as MWO is patched.

Doing this challenge myself, I realize that it is not easy, especially following the Code while piloting a very difficult Mech to do well in stock. I am certain, however, that I will get this done, and I will be able to respect anyone else who does as well.

Okay, I've got all the c-bill purchasable equipment, with the XL285 arriving in my inventory this evening.

Since I'm going to be a while grinding that MC, a question:

While I only need to unlock the elites on the other 2 (in order to be able to master the 1b), may I run them through mastery while the MC grind is working?

It reads like we run the 1b exclusively only after we've assembled Captain Masters' pride and joy.
