So we had the choice of PXH-2 and PXH-3S variants, who picked which and why?

I took the 3S solely for the DHS, but turns out I love the weapon load out too. Makes for a fun two-button brawler. It will likely be my best performing chassis.

Curious why the K variant was off the table though; because no JJ?

I picked the 3S and it is the variant that I do best in stock. If the original poll had the LPL win over the ERPPC, then the "Black Phoenix" would have been based on the 3S instead of the 1B (although the 1B makes more sense as far as the timeline and origin of the Order). I am not sure why I left the K out, I will update that when I can, since the only mandatory variants are the PHX-1 and PHX-1B. The third variant can be any non-Hero / non-Champion variant.

I chose the 3S because I like LPL's and it has MASC, XL engine and DHS. Having both machine guns on the same hand is nice too

I am not quite there, but will go with the 3S. Having double heat sinks is just too tempting to pass up.

Pavlo picked up the 3S for multiple reasons.

The -2 wasn't much different from the -1, and I wanted some variety.

Speaking of variety: MASC.

The weapons included a better-synced combo of the LPL with the ML. Those and the MGs with the MASC make it a nice skirmisher. The DHS helps a bunch with that, too

Once I got a good look, there was no doubt. Sure the -2 would have been less of a grind, but there's not much to grind c-bills for anyway besides the XL285 on ths shopping list. I'd have kept grinding for the -3S even if I hadn't had all the money for it and the -1b after the cadet matches.

Save your C-Bills, you will need them for the new Skill System and also, the Path to Knighthood is not the "Challenge" in this event, it just prepares you for the challenges to come. Some of the future challenges may require you to make use of those other variants ;-)

With the new 4.1 FW patch coming. I am anticipating a event of some sort. Can we add a 4th PHX to our lineup or perhaps a duplicate 1B or other variant to make a drop deck of PHX's ? All stock of course. I am sure the CW peeps will love that

I dont want to miss out on any possible MC since that will take the longest to get. Looking back at the past events, it seems around 250-300ish MC is all you can get. And we need 2750 to buy all the camo and warhorn etc.

If they dont have event for FW or no MC rewards then its moot point but.. it would be silly fun.

Tomorrow's patch will bring machine gun rate of fire nerfs to our beloved Phoenix Hawks. Now, I know this is not good news, but just remember this section of the Order of the Black Phoenix code:

-Find opportunity in adversity (do not complain about your team, the game mode, or the map. Learn to make the best of any situation and learn from every failure).

Sounds like the 3S would have been the obvious pick even if the K had been on the list!

Even with DHS I still have to watch heat in the 1B, but the 3S handles its weapon loadout nicely. Its the first Mech I've played with MASC too, and even though I use a JJ on lots of Mechs, I've never played much with Mechs that can really fly like the PXH. It's been a fun grind so far.

The MC grind for knighthood is real, only the most dedicated will prevail. This could be the beginning of a thread that will last years!

General machine gun buff though. If you check the math the ROF stays the same or gets better on the Pixies and reduced spread too. So it is an overall win.

My intention with this Challenge / Event was to replace the soon to expire What Mech Challenge with a new Challenge / Event that does not have a predetermined expiration date. Now with the failure of the Order's sister Challenge / Event, The Betrayed Challenge / Event, my "meta" event has taken a step back, but it will be almost a year (estimated) before the two Challenge / Events would have merged, so I have a bit of time to get something else worked out.
