That would be HSR. You got hit by someone's attack, but it didn't hit you (or even come close to you) on your screen. And seen as damage is server authoritative, and game effects are client side... Sometimes the two don't match. But, it's better than lag shooting your lasers 2-4 mech lengths away from your target...

Punched they the back armor while hit in front is pretty common . Especially on higher ping or varying altitude maps.
I've noticed very common twitching/spasm twists spectating urban mechs but nothing else. I always attributed it to the 360 twist that wasn't coded to be spectate properly.other than that never really noticed
