Okay, I can admit that I'm being bullheaded here, I am being VERY stubborn with my points, but you're trying to push that "It's offtopic and ponies shouldn't be here.". If you can't accept that offtopic envelops everything not MWO then you can just go, we don't need somebody that is ignorant of it being offtopic.

Actually, I'm trying to push that there's a reason people "hate" on ponies and furries in this forum. It just doesn't belong, off-topic or no. It's like if I tried spewing feminist theory or BDSM or Star Wars or railing against obama or romney. Really, it's much better served in forums dedicated to those, or just general purpose forums. In this forum especially, I'm seeing more and more pony threads, and it's just like "really?" That's why people find pony threads in MWO annoying.

Okay. Let me rephrase why I asked it here.

I asked it here because I expected intelligent answers, which is what I got. Asking in the respective forums would get the "Idunno" and asking in other forums where I can't expect intelligent answers will only yield "******!".

sometimes these things can get a little over the top and in our faces. its like tossing a frog in boiling water.
the frog immediately jumps for its life. however when you slowly raise the temperature, the frog stays in and gets cooked.

its the same thing with these topics. if you are immediately introduced to a colorful dog-faced guy, you might want to look away or ignore it. however if you develop your own interest in it over a longer time, you will grow to love it.

So why do you vehemently resist my answer? Is it not intelligent enough for you?

I honestly (and stupidly) don't remember your answer. All I remember fighting with you is when you got pissed about it being on a "Mechwarrior Forum" and then fighting about it being in offtopic then just rephrasing and repeating the same answers.

Actually, in the famous "frog in boiling water" experiment, the frog's brain was removed and that explains why it didn't jump out of the water...though maybe that makes it even more of an appropriate analogy on the internet.

I believe the frog's brain was removed in that experiment,

Oh wow!. I understand that this is deep offtopic and everything, but believe it or not, only TODAY I finally learned - what bronies actually are. And I'm thankful to the whole community for closing this gap in my knowledge.

Going to the point of OP - bronies are far from being most ridiculed or most exotic subculture .. and I'll stop at this statement :) ... I checked with both my kids and they feel indifferent to ponies of all sorts, so I'm neutral

Wow. Just... wow.

You people are the reason the story of Sodom and Gomorrah was included in the Bible.

If you ever feel the need to justify what you are doing this badly, then you probably shouldn't be doing it.

Yeah...and speaking of HATERS!! Here we have your garden variety bible thumper. Aspects of this critter include narrow mindedness, selfrightousness and a host of other detestable qualities.

People hate what they cannot control or understand. I am a PAGAN!!..I am a BRONY,I am also a FURRY! I Support GAY RIGHTS and the RIGHTS of WOMEN to terminate an unwanted pregnancy if they so CHOOSE. Who the HELL are any of you to tell me HOW to live PROPERLY? I'm quite happy...leave us the hell alone...or I'll start feeding my lions Christians again.

lol, I was never pissed. I already told you that I'm blunt, not rabid. Like you said though, I've kind of been repeating the same answer again and again. I'm not sure why you still don't get it. I'll try to rephrase it again though. Mechs are cool, blowing **** up is cool, but ponies and furries are a complete buzzkill. I don't hate ponies and furries, they just kind of sap the fun out of the place when they flash it around everywhere. While I still don't hate you guys for it, I see that being the same reason other people do. So you wanted to know "why the hate," and I answered "why they hate."

Is it REALLY that huge of a thing in the primary forums?... Have people REALLY gotten so stupid as to start pushing it there?

There is nothing simple about the situation, and you're spewing downright false facts.

First off, I have not seen ANY pony spam on any thread except possibly a couple photos in the meme thread. There's a big difference between pony spam, and being frustrated of seeing the word, "pony."

This is the second forum I've seen allegations of people spamming ponies on, and this is also the same second forum that, like the first, keeps anything pony related to one thread.

Let's be clear on what spam is. Spam is when members are flooding different topics with pony images in attempts to derail them. Spam is not, "I see ponies in all the places I go."

Ponies are popular. If it's not your cup of tea, then it's not your cup of tea. However, like all things popular, you're going to stumble across it many times on the internet. I don't like Ray William Johnson, yet I see his videos front page every time I go to YouTube. I absolutely despised the, "Take My Hand," meme that flooded DeviantArt, but I didn't go off on a tangent complaining about it.

Just because a (1, singular) topic exists in on off-topic section of this board, does not = spam. If you think it's spam because you can't accept that it's popular, then that's your own fault, but it isn't spam, clear and simple.

Secondly, most of the pony threads that have popped up, such as the, "Pony Hate Thread," "Anti-Pony Thread," "Pony Neutral Thread," and, "Anti-Anti-Pony Thread," would not have existed if people didn't create a topic specifically to rant about people on the forum.

So don't try to spin this on us and say we're responsible for the influx of pony related topics here, because it's pretty much the exact opposite.

hmmm after considering this for a bit id thought id put my 2 cents in. i dont think that most ppl mind the every day fans of the show. altho i will say i do think it is a lil strange for grown men to watch MLP, however considering that alot of anime that i like, like gundam and robotech (macross) have a bunch of touchy feely episodes in them where they are trying to show there love and care by killing the hell out of everything with some sort of uber wepon (gundam wing any one ? or zeta gundam or all of macross) i really cant fault ppl liking what they like. but what worries me is the whole im a pony /furrie for life and cant wait to leave this world to be in my true pony/furrie form.

Ya those guys have had one too many bowls of coookie crisp. ( a couple of tacos short of a mexican dinner if you will). yeah that kind of fan needs a lil help. that and if you are a fan thats cool i support your right to rock. however alot of ppl wanna scream it to the world and have it big and huge on display and its the first thing they talk about. that does put alot of ppl off. how would some ppl feel if you had a freind that was big in to hentai? or some of the alternatives of adult um.... intrests. and that freind would tell any one he met that hes in to what ever it is hes in too.

that and alot of us have forgotten or the new ones dont know up untill very recently it was not really "cool" to play video games. its is getting more accepted now today than it was in the past but alot of ppl still frown on us gamers. then you take and add the brony/pony/furrie/cosplayer, or what ever else that the main stream ppl dont see and, well we find ourselves in a bit of a pickel.

as far as MYSELF i welcome any group of ppl that wants to play with open arms. HOWEVER, if you are a brony/pony/furrie you do have an obligation to the rest of us to keep the nut jobs that give the rest of you a bad name in check.

any way my 2 cents . hope to see you in game where ill be lighting your fuzzy butt up with my lasers.

End of line

You lost me here. I still maintain that whether offtopic or not, ponies and furries in a MWO forum is a buzzkill in the midst of awesome stuff. A casual glance at offtopic threads here are things like mechwarrior memes, titles of similar nature to mechwarrior, or things like harry potter vs battletech. And then I see ponies and furries that are just way out of left field.
