My average drop deck is 175 Tons (ACH-Prime, 2x Vipers, LBK-RL), and I have been doing quite well against the IS...I think I am 12-1 in invasion drops...

I say that as example against 10-12 KDK drop decks

Lets make it that for FP Clans can't make a group larger than 10, then put 2 potato, dummy placeholders in the 11th and 12th slots that self destruct as soon as they drop from the dropship. No kills, no assists on these 2.

boom. stars vs lances

That's too hard for PGI to program though!

Wow. Ya don't like mercenaries helping you, do you?

Right...he who conveniently forgets that the Clans winning the first two battles of Tukayyid were thanks principally to...who fighting on behalf of Clan Wolf?

Clans' success in this phase alone has been attributed to...who, might I ask?

Couldn't possibly be the fact that a number of the major mercenary units might just happen to be contracted to Clans, could it?

Couldn't also possibly be such a shock that the movement of these groups between sides might actually cause developers to make note of these movements on Twitter, now, would it?

Question for you, pal...what happens when the major mercenary units you so decry all go to the Inner Sphere?

Could always set it up so mercs would have to rotate to an IS contract every two weeks :)

Mercs are the only reason Clans ever had a planet off their starting worlds. Even in CW 1 the joke was that "Clan Loyalist" was the name of the mech bay attendants who kept the mercs Clan mechs clean while the mercs were making a stint running missions for the IS.

At one time the IS loyalist units were healthy enough to drive wins on their own, however the latest 12 months, give or take, has bled that away and now it's pretty much just mercs vs mercs and the few people in loyalist units too stupid or stubborn to switch to merc.

I feel like this guy wasn't around for that time that Gyrok pissed off the large merc units and they all went IS for a month and pushed the clans to the point of extinction on the map (pretty much every clan was pushed to starting invasion planet)

Does it matter if your faction has 1 planet or a million? You'll still be able to do scouting and invasion just the same. Hence it doesn't matter who has the mercs or how "well" your faction is doing. Though this is all academic as PGI will never institute mercs for IS only.

Ok well than if we are going to play lore wise then clans can no longer use IIC mechs cause those were viewed as inferior to omnimechs and only the Solahma used them. So no more hunchbacks, marauders and orions

ohh and clan can only engage one target at the time cause its against clan culture to engage multiple targets

and yes I realize I am clan but I'm just pointing out how pointless it is to argue lore, it won't work in this game

Just as a side note.... the hunchie IIC is a common-ish frontline mech. Also by 3052 zell'ing against freebirths is also becoming less popular. So one on one targeting is not mandatory(outiside of CJF and CSA). Otherwise you are right.

Yes, it was common with the Solahma pilots looking to die honorably in battle... thats why it was on the frontline.

Lol, most of us veterans are getting old enough(by clan standards) to be Solahma. Although it is hardly ONLY used by them.

From Sarna:
"In truth, the assignment of a Hunchback IIC was essentially a death sentence. Warriors given this machine were not expected to survive their next battle."

So yes, maybe not be *only* solahma, but the reality is that the MWO version of the HBK IIC is better than it was in TT...

"Hunchback IIC 2 from Secondline units,
and even with the new 'Mechs in available now on Irece, many frontline
warriors have chosen to retain the use of the medium 'Mech."
Sarna is not the only source of information.

Perhaps not, but its not quoting the original FASA TRO's like Sarna often does, so it appears we are at an impasse... over something that is rather pointless... lol

Oh pointless for sure. However as one more point, there is a hunchback IIC in a certain star colonels command star in a certain cartoon...
