How so? Its a Turn Based strategy game versus a first person semi-sim-shooter. While I won't deny I'm gonna play the **** out of Battletech, its not the same as (even MWO) being in the cockpit yourself.
Now...Mechwarrior 5 on the other hand, is a whole other beast.
How will HBS' BT game make MWO a ghost town? Let's see.
1. Being better balanced than MWO. i.e. no Clans to completely and utterly f*** up the balance.
2. Being fully open-ended, allowing almost unlimited replayability. Have a long running campaign being aligned with House Davion that you're getting bored of? Then start a whole new campaign aligned with House Kurita, embrace the bushido code, and so on and so forth.
3. By being a TBS style game, you actually have to think. You have to position your units where they'll be more advantageous, and provide cover for units that are at risk, such as making sure you have something to support that slow as f*** Atlas that's the pride of your unit. Also, for example you have an objective you need scouted, you're gonna need a scout mech, which could also be used, if you're fast and smart enough, to make an end run around the enemies you're facing and give them a nice poke in the a***.
Sure you can do #3 in MWO, but you need more than just one mech to pull it off effectively. Trying to do that in MWO with just one mech will get you iced quick.
And those are just right off the top of my head. I'm sure more people could provide more reasons.
