6ALRM10 is weaksauce and a terrible mutilation of an assault mech. Please tell me more about how an XL IS assault with no direct fire weapons worth speaking of and a small XL to boot is better than taking a TBT-7M/MDD-PRIME that can put 70% of the missile volume at 50% less tonnage.
Oh, and the 7SRM Cyclops is as terrifying as an Atlas (more raw firepower, in fact) and far easier to get in range with. Quite easily one of the most forgiving IS assault brawlers because of how fast it is and how hard it hits, not to mention superb hitboxes. (What are its rivals? AS7-S? HGN? KGC? not even a contest in playability)
Weak build my butt.

1. Exactly because it's an LRM boat I can afford XL no problem. I don't have to take fire if I don't want to.
2. It's not small, it's about right. This is not a mech for NASCARing across the map.
3. What the hell would I even do with a bigger engine in this mech?..

Maybe not a TBT, but yes, Archer or Catapult or Mad Dog may be more weight-efficient. But they're more prone to screw-ups due to having less armor. I'm not a fan of LRM assaults myself, but 10-Q just works.
I probably need to take Artemis off and take a 7th LRM10. The only reason it's there is I was trying the ASRM6 build before that (think it was 6 SRMs, not 7. As per MoltenMetal's video).

SRM 10-Q is fun maybe 4 times out of 10, 5 at most. The other times it just sucks. Crimson Straight, Mining Collective, HPG Manifold - sure, it can be fun. Maybe Frozen City. That's about it.
My 2xUAC/5 +2xAC/5 XL Sleipnir is a better brawler. XL!!!

6x ML, 1x AC20, STD 360. Moves really fast (69) , hits quite hard and isnt too hot.
It's not too hot, its unplayably hot (and I've had 1 more heatsink)..

But this is true of every brawler mech ever built
On that note though, Polar can actually be a decent map for brawlers, the Cyclops runs into problems on more open maps because of it's size. It's the same problem the grasshopper has it's too tall for it's own good. Polar has decent trenches to hide in and flank through. As long as someone doesn't lock onto you for enemy LRMs you're golden.

True, but not every brawler mech totally lacks any weapons capable of doing any damage beyond 270 m range. And not every mech is as squishy. Frankly, I don't know exactly why I can brawl better in XL Sleipnir or XL Black Widow than in 10-Q, but it is so.

Well... For one, when did anyone NOT get kicked by LRMs on LRM Highlands? Also, the team doesn't always want to hug the trenches properly... But yes, you have a point.
