Oh FFS.

I shouldn't even have to make a bad shop out of this., it's so painfully apparent:

I can kind of, sort of see it, but only in the most superficial "They both are a bit chunky and square" kind of way. In a contest to pick the two mechs that look the most alike, I don't think these two break into the top 10. Hell, even if you throw out all the Clan mechs that look like they were assembled from the same lego set it doesn't make it.

Thug for inner sphere would be nice and the clint.

Thug doesn't strike me as a mech that would be very good...

It's pretty much a Warhammer IIC with better hit boxes. The Zeus's hitboxes, actual (Sans giant head).

Wait. That's not very encouraging.

I just really really want more IS MASC mechs, cause all we got at the moment is the Bub-7D(X-men reference)

I just want more MASC mechs in general.

Erm, what? Does the Phract not have a MASC variant? Oh wait, thats currently a Loyalty mech, never mind.

You aren't adjusting for MWO's fetish with thunder thighs and aversion to scissor legs.

That would make the silhouette into, essentially, a Cataphract with Ebon Jag arms.

There are fewer 'Mechs in MWO that are so similar.

While I agree the Thug overall might not be good there is a variant where it has ECM and jump jets so that would make it fun at least, right?

This might sound hilarious but for 80 tonners I'd rather have the Charger. In MWO's mechlab the Charger could be quite good.

Uziel Is the only IS Mech that I would buy. I even sold the two IS Mechs that I bought before Clan was released. Clan all the way except for that darn soft spot for the Uziel.

Jump Jets
Relatively fast 97 KPH
ERPPC or
UACs or
LPL or
Laser MG
and SRMs

Kind of an IS Jumpy Stormcrow/Nova hybrid.

I lobbied hard for it in MWLL (and it basically sucked there due to being huge) and if it comes to MWO I will buy every variation of it just because. I would expect it to be the size and the stance somewhere between the Stormcrow and Nova in this game. It may not be comp level good but so what? Power creep is bad for the game and comp players only use the Mechs that are pushing the power creep. Besides comp is a small % of the player base and games played. Sometimes it is just about fun and wanting what we want.

Maybe, but... the Inner Sphere already has a surprising amount of assault mechs that can run 400s. While they don't have an 80 tonner that can do it... what would the Charger do that, say, a Battlemaster can't? Or a Cyclops? Sure, it can move a bit faster, but at what price? And would PGI give the variants a 400 cap, or stick to the 1.2 rule and cap them at 385?

I think the Charger would be neat, but I don't think it would be a very good performer. If anything, the MWO MechLab takes away the only special thing it had to offer.

Eh... super wide arms that would fall off under minimal firepower... no thanks.

Would it really be that big? You are comparing a 50 ton mech to a 70 ton mech and volume metrics might have shorter and fatter than the Cataphract. 20 tons is a decent amount.

On another note, got bored and fiddled around... With a 400XL, 6 DHS in the engine, and 'MWO Compliant' armor (A ton shaved off the legs), a Charger would have 22 tons and 28 crits left over. And move 81 KPH.

It's not great.

The arms are relatively small so it is not like they are huge targets. I would like to see what Alex can do with it and there is room in the ST to put some nice high hard points should PGI choose to.

I blew it up to compare silhouettes. I didn't stretch it, however much taller I made it, I made it wider.

If you want to start arguing over whether the MW4 silhouette is going to change due to volumetrics, well... at that point, I'm going to have to call ********. Under such circumstances, speculation is essentially meaningless and any claims that they look the same, or different, are beyond the realm of any kind of reason.

I don't even own one, but...in December I saw a fair few. Haven't played this month at all, yet.

High hard-points won't help it since the cockpit is so low. Same problem the Archer, or even the Cataphract, have.

The belly cockpit really ruins it because it won't be able.to make great use of.those high hardpoints. It has to expose the whole torso just to look over a hill. Ick.
