Well, my picks are:

IS
  • Raptor
  • Strider
  • Sunder
  • Nightstar
Why these? 3 of them are the IS OmniMechs. And I love OmniMechs for being very modular. And why NightStar? Because it's like clan Turkina - kick-*** Assault.

Clan
  • Kingfisher
  • Bane
  • Turkina
  • Stone Rhino
Why these? Kingfisher - heavy armor, Bane - long range. Turkina - kick-*** Assault like Nightstar & Stone Rhino - the mech with destiny to become a SuperHeavy one, but for sake of being useful, it had to be weight down to 100 tonnes.

I would love to see IS Omnis myself, just keep in mind heatsinks are locked, and the Strider uses single heat sinks and has hot weapons. So that one is not on my list.

I would gg for Raptor (light), Men Shen (medium), Black Hawk-KU (heavy), and Hauptmann (assault).

Not a bad list...

Raptor
Men Shen
Black Hawk KU
Templar (I like the challenge of working around the crit limitations)

Yes, yes! IS Omnis!

I think the Blackhakw-KU would actually turn out to be quite strong.

I guess it is just our avatars seperating us, in this case. Posted Image
But yes, the Templar is a challenge and I would like to it in game nonetheless.

Could be Posted Image

That being said, the two IS Omni's I would love to see are a bit odd...

http://www.sarna.net...rion_(OmniMech)
http://www.sarna.net...tlet_(OmniMech)

I'm generally not a fan of Dark Age, but for some reason the Gauntlet just draws me to it....

I would kill for a 32'nd century's mechs, like these two (not mentioning tri-pods, of course Posted Image )...

Strider AFAIK is trying to be a Omni-based Cicada pretending to be a Oxide Jenner, so single HS are pretty much OK :P

Nah, missiles run pretty hot unless you are throwing spitballs.

Medium: Lynx

'Cept we were talking about Omni's... and I know that the only omni you listed there is the Raptor...

The mechs in general that I'd like to see are a bit different...

Stinger / Wasp
Enfield
Crusader
Charger / Devastator

I would buy them all. As a medium driver I like the Lynx best though. Posted Image

Somebody's got to do it. Posted Image

No, seriously, I know Katherine is about the worst thing that happened to the Lyrans, but would I know this if I actually were a Lyran and not omniscient thanks to the novels?
I guess I would go through a similar process like Adam Steiner, i.e. slowly realizing Katherine is bad for the Alliance but still not supporting Victor.

Templar for omni assault

Does the Templar have good mounts? I know the Sunder has some tasty cockpit level shoulder mounts, and the arms are angled so they are slightly below the cockpit, but it doesn't have those low humanoid arms like the Templar. Just a thought! Podspace is around 35 for both I believe.

40t of Pod space on the Templar, she's got Endo/FF and an IS-XL... her handy cap is crit lay out.

36t of Pod space on the Sunder, she lacks Endo/FF, but still has an IS-XL... so cavernous space for weapons and equipment.

The Templar prime boasts a SRM/4 at cockpit level with two ERML at waste height, in line all arm mounted weapons. The Templar's strength comes from large sheild arms, like the Battlemaster. Slightly wide torso and low weapon mounts are her weakness.... depending on how PGI goes about modeling it, they could pull a Battlemaster and high mount almost everything.... I would suspect that variants C-I on the Templar might see high mounts for all torso mounted weapons in those configurations...

Edit: I forgot to start with the base chassis on both, so the Templar actually has more base pod space...

Edit 2: Also worth understanding is the stock Sunder has 94% armour coverage while the Templar has 100%.

Templar has endo but not ferro, but yeah so essentially the Templar has more tons for weapons, where the Sunder has more space and higher mounts. Hopefully the mounts aren't as horrid as I expect them to be on the Templar, but we should probably get both at some point.

You're right, my bad on the FF on the Templar... As I said, the art work for the prime puts the RT mounted SSRM/4 and LT TC sensor at cockpit level, so I would feel very comfortable in thinking that the other variants that have ST weapons would put them at cockpit level.

Alt. C:
LT 3E

Alt D:
LT: 1B
RT: 1B

Alt E:
LT: 2E
RT: 1E

Alt F:
LT: 1E
RT: 1E

Alt G:
LT: 1B
RT: 1B

Alt H:
LT: 1E
RT: 1E

Alt I:
LT: 1E

How ever due to her crit set up, she can cram upto one normal Gauss Rifle into the LT... no Gauss Rifle in the RT, but you can have dual Light Gauss, one in each ST.... in fact that is a standard load out on one of the variants.

Wouldn't the Templar's mounts be similar to the Battlemaster?

In theory, they could be, provided you take the placement location of the SSRM/4 and TC sensor on the Templar as an indication of where PGI would likely place the weapon mounts.
