I really want to hype this, but seeing all the other release dates being pushed further and further (and with new assault mode is already 6 month late) I'm really sceptical towards PGI's ability to meet the timeframe. And there is no reason to believe that PGI won't screw up balance with new tech. We'll see, I guess.

See the "new" weapons will be introduced just in time for you to purchase, with real money, reskilling your mechs.

I REALLY want to stress how much I second this! As a QP player it really would be super great to get a couple of new maps.

Give us 10 new maps.

Probably one of the few time i feel i need to speak given that most of this roadmap sounds great that being said.

loved everything up till you say new inner sphere mech pre-order for January now I'm just disappointed you take tons away from the clans and know full well the inner sphere have more lights then the clan and not one 20 ton clan mech exists yet in game and your going to release yet another light for inner sphere!? really? I'm a light pilot and I'm shocked that your talk of fixing machine guns in December and the hope of a light mech would surely have been the piranha since it's in your freaking company's name and would have been then the perfect beacon to your so called new era! I'd be happy with a fire moth to even the new clan drop deck out but Jesus how hard are you trying to make it on us? oh wow the supernova yet another assault that will surely be underutilized.

If anyone from PGI really is reading this for the love of god change the light pre-order to the clans a fire moth or piranha and really work or change the freaking tons back for clan or maybe just maybe fix the IS tons your not helping the already tough faction environment.

Haven't spent a dime since summer, maybe kodiak pack. Been playing fallout 4 and now diablo 3 with some MWO. As someone who is getting interested in this game again, I welcome the new tech. Although the moanings of no firemoth I will echo as it has been talked about for a long time. What about the flea? I have no vested interest in any of them nor will buy them, but these players should have their time. Now MWO limitations due to speed. State that and be done with it.

Regarding the IS LE. Good, about damn time. Just remember people any torso loss clan experiences the IS will experience. On top of lore references. Loss of 2 engine crits was 10 heat. That is all the base standard HS that came with the engine. With DHS, that is 50% loss of heat efficiency so PGI is being generous with 40%. Although the speed loss should be undone as it isn't lore.

EDIT: I want a pirhana

Great plan for 3 months, but
Nothing new to stop leak of population:
- long reconnecting time: 1 minute 10 second minimum
- no mech collisions
- no axe\hand\claw battles
- no realistic economy
- no realistic warfare
- no content\missions\ combined pvp-pve warfare
- no hardware optimisation
- no language localization
- absence of strait PGI's policy what game is it: 1) for casual oriented game it has no content at all (exept armory) 2) it is not a cyber-sport cause you nerfed all duel-oriented (madcat, cataphract) and skill-caped mechs (lights, dragon, wolverines) and balance game for low-elo gamers.
Extensive development(1 new mech to 300 old, 100500th time of stupid(sorry, can't find another word) balance) is exhausted. From current point there are 2 ways: make a solid product, or continue same policy with players population comparable to number of employeers.

Dear InenrSphereNews,
As a fan and your customer I would like to hear an official answer here.

I would like to see this, but when players keep voting for the same boring maps over and over, what is the point? Waste of time and resources. I don't see the lava map all that much now a days and always vote for it. It is always canyon network, a snow map, or the humping hill. Maybe grim perplexes but hardly hot maps. I would welcome randomization more or maybe higher rewards on specific maps would shift things.

I showed this to a friend and this is what he had to say. I don't necessarily agree with it Posted Image

"]what i just read was, Due to falling income from pissed off players not spending money we are finally gonna do 1/4 of what we promised 1 year ago in the hopes your dumb enough to give us lots of cash for being lazy, deceptive, greedy pieces of ****. Thank you from PGI...."

Oh your friend is correct.

Coupled with more promises if I.K which P.G.I have been working on and failing to make work for over a year now.

More Tech making it harder to balance a game they've failed to do for over a year.

Vastly offsets anything good in the write up.

I wonder if the new tech will ever see light of day, or just like I.K. is just a hook to try and keep more people once Battletech is launched.

Oh I suspect the light mech is actually one I want, but people will cry about it, because even those few that see it as a good thing, will be disappointed it's just a shrunken Phoenix hawk with bad modular weaponry

I guess we shall see, and whether my sceptical view is wildly inaccurate or validated come early summer.

For those who are wanting maps, and I wish I could put a tweet up to show that I did talk with Alex about this, and Alex if you can do that, I would appreciate it. I did ask about new maps and if the following maps would be revamped Tourmaline, HPG and Canyon. He had this to say:

@jecrego2k14 Nothing to announce on the map front at the moment. Level design currently focused on integration of Assault revamp

Are all clan planets salty wastelands or ocean worlds? So you get a heat nerf if you lose a side. IS explode.....

And before it's said LORE.....

This is mechwarrior a game based on battletech.....
Kinda like "Pearl Harbor" a movie loosely based on reality

It may appear that we are salty because of a nerf.

This is false.

We are salty because the alternative to nerfed clans is a buff the inner sphere did not receive.

One of the reasons P.G.I went to the single monthly mech was because packs hit sales, depending on what time of year they came out, people would not buy, or only wanted to buy one mech out the range.

Does this new pack mean the Clan players or I.S players, will now be forced to buy mechs from a side they don't want ?

Can't help but wonder if ala carte sales will be a thing once more.

If they are, once the 'new' mechpacks arrive, reverting to mech packs will not increase sales of unpopular mechs which people see as valueless, making them rather pointless to return to.

Only by forcing people to go up the mech pack scale, and buy what P.G.I see as the less popular to reach the ones people actually want, is there any point in doing this.

i.e to get that Thug or the Annihilator you also have to buy the *insert I.S light mech that people see as being very bad* first.

Details on how this old, new system is going to work are very lacking, and as I've said above, utterly pointless if ala carte allowing people to chose single mechs is reintroduced.

Balance Adjustments

January will see a number of balance-related adjustments, including a fix for AMS not reacting correctly to certain angles of incoming fire, quirk adjustments for 7 IS ‘Mechs and 6 Clan ‘Mechs – the details of which will be provided in full with the January patch notes – along with a reduction to Clan XL Engine Cooling Efficiency in the event of Side Torso destruction; bringing the total efficiency penalty from its current 20% up to 40%.

In regards to the Clan XL change, the balance dynamic between Inner Sphere and Clans is something that we have and will continue to evaluate heavily. This adjustment to Clan XL cooling efficiency is a step in that process, making the loss of a Side Torso more impactful on the performance of Clan ‘Mechs.
Beyond this change we have identified some larger balance points that we will be pushing after the release of the Skill Tree system, which will see some critical changes to the overall Clan vs. IS dynamic. More details will be provided about these changes after the release of the new Skill Tree, within the new context of balance introduced by the release of that feature.
We will continue to heavily examine the overall balance between the Inner Sphere and Clan factions through 2017, and adjust as needed.

I think it's high time we have Clan formations vs. IS formations. Use game mode setups, victory conditions, and rewards in addition to Mechs and equipment as part of the balancing structure. Heck, if you insist on 12v12, at the very least dress up the Clans as an augmented binary with 2 extra Mechs and change the UI to act accordingly.

A Clan "company" made of of 3 "lances" just smacks of minimally viable design. <shrugs>

And let's have more asymmetric game modes. This 1:1 crap is just absolutely boring, especially in what was originally billed as a "thinking person's shooter". <shrugs again>
