Question Mark. Do you know if any of the current 30-35 tonners will get any durability/mobility buffs anytime soon? Lights were the only weightclass to not get any compensation quirks from the Rescale, and most of us Light pilots are quite tired of our favourite mechs being junk because of the lack of quirks on them.
I gave you an answer in the twitch stream earlier today, which is that I'll ask Paul, because yes, as some have pointed out, it's another department. It will also mean that any reply to this topic will be his.

Mark confirmed as a Trueborn!
Deal with it, Inner Sphere!
I do have a genuine question though. I know this has probably been answered before, but what sort of man hours are put into just modeling mechs? I thought about getting into basic 3D design a long time ago, but damn is that stuff complex, and I have nowhere near enough patience to do what you guys do.
I just like the blue hud more than amber
Honestly, a LOT of time goes into making mechs. When I was around 12 or 13, I spent an entire saturday afternoon and evening sitting there, pouring over an orthographic drawing of an AT-ST from a star wars manual, and drawing it in 3d (sadly the file's been lost, or I'd post it). I could have been playing Duke Nukem 3D instead! So yeah, it's not so much patience as passion, but it's so very rewarding to see a mech when it's finished. Regarding time, we get about 7 weeks to take a concept and turn it into a game ready model with normal maps, weapons, and some technical odds and ends.

Mark with your influence can I ask what your price would be to lobby for the following light mechs: IS: Spector & Clan: Hellion. We can work out a convenient payment arrangement I am sure
you can ask, but I'll remain consistent with my lobbying based on personal preference, what looks cool, having something new to bring, and making sure everyone will actually enjoy it. I've said before I'm partial to the Kraken/Bane 3.

Hi Mark, how hard was the process of choosing the upcoming Light 'Mech? I'm curious since Light is probably the most disadvantaged class, so PGI had to get it right in order for people to be interested and buy the 'Mech. Assuming that that's the sole reason for PGI and not other things like bringing certain 'Mechs into HBS' Battletech.
It's not often I get asked for my opinion on mech choice. I thank that was part of it being a more serious discussion than normal. I also know that HBS's mech pipline got locked in a while back. I was disappointed to learn that my Assassin wouldn't make it into their game when I talked to them at MechCon. The assassin was the first IS mech I've modelled, thus my first chance to get a mech I made into their game.
