It's straight up against my contract to say anything other than this baby. Now, are you going to buy one or not? I get a commission on these things.

Pretty much this, or whatever mech the invincible protagonist is piloting (Victor Steiner-Davion, Kai Allard Liao, Morgan Kell, Phelan Ward (Kell), Aidan Pryde, Natasha Kerensky, etc)

If you ignore 'heroes' (Protagonist and villains), most mechs are portrayed simply as mechs, doing what they do as well as any other. The one's portrayed as 'better,' if they ever are, are usually the obvious ones - Atlases are always feared in any era, regardless of their TT deficiencies. Dire Wolves are similarly regarded with horror when seen in the Inner Sphere, and the Timber Wolf is often portrayed as a pinnacle mech.

The best? Easy, UrbanMech. Nothing survives.

Favorite? Hmmmmmmmmmm...tough call. I also really like the Mist Lynx, but I also really like the Locust. And the Raptor. And the Marauder....

Don't forget the Shadow Cat in there. In-lore, it was an absolute menace. There's a reason it never had an Inner Sphere name: Everyone who faced it up until Tukayyid either had no idea what hit them, or died.

Hmmm, speaking of the Shadow Cat, how good would it be if you could stuff 28 CMGs into it?

I hate the Jihad era with a passion, but also, there was a Shadow Cat variant with 6 AP Gauss Rifles and a HAG/20. It's just so mean.

Oh, and honestly, one of my favorite pieces of art with the Shadow Cat in it.

Oh, I forgot.

It's hard to pin down my favorite battlemech. It changes between a few as time goes on. Generally, the Catapult and the Zeus are always in the top 3, though.

I was actually talking about if MG arrays were added, so that a person could theoretically put four MGs in a single Hardpoint. Would get a little ridiculous once people started playing with the 32 MG Dire, and don't even get me started on the Bane.

Bane. 14 MG arrays. If each MG in the array did the same DPS as MGs in the game currently do, that would equal out to be 53.2 DPS. Yes please.

Heavy Machine Guns. 50% DPS increase. 79.8 DPS.

****. This. Idea.

Someone would still complain about SPLas light mechs being OP while running that.

Well, lets see, Bane has 14 ballistic slots. Each MG array holds 4 MGs. That totals to 56 MG total.

Ironically they all consistently considered the Daishi/Dire Wolf to be the best mech, just that they didn't always have access to one. It was usually considered OP as ****.

I always found it amusing that Victor has some of the best plot armor in Battletech, and yet he still got Gauss Walled during the Civil War.

OP or not, all bow their heads at the Alter of the Magnet.
