It has to be THOR!

[Edit] Also, finding good Clan 'mech artwork is hard (unless you want a Mad Cat). IS has OP fan art! Posted Image [/Edit]

I LOVED the Thor in MW3, but something about the MWO model doesn't do it for me.

I think it comes down to the bubble cockpit and the angle of the upper torso/chest. Makes it a little too bulbous and cartoonish. Not to mention its light hoppy stride lol!

The MW3 version was leaner and meaner, and actually looked like 70 tons of death.

I mean seriously, just look at that cockpit, like a narrowed angry eye slit.

All time though Still remains the Victor.

One of only three mechs that could head shot a completely healthy mech in the era I played Table top in. If the AC20 missed it could get you with D.o.A as it was the only Jumping Assault, with that extra dimension of mobility just said MINE !

Even when the Highlander came along it still wasn't as cool or sleek or have that devastating one shot kill ability until the guass rifle was added

my CW drop deck..

WHM-BW
WHM-6R (S)
RFL-3N (S)
RFL-LK

so....looking at your deck.... with PPCs in the arms ... you like to lose a lot, eh? Posted Image

The Medium Mech Jocks.

Don't feel bad, not everyone has the innate skill to skirt the bleeding edge of mediocrity and massage the last drop of performance out of severely outgunned and outclassed chassis.

I don't play to win, I play to have fun... that being said, dropping with skittles never ends well... though it is rare that I am the first one out of mechs....

When not fighting CW, Medium's are my go too... been loving the Bushwacker X2 lately.

Raven 3L. I've always loved how it looks fast, is sleek and sneaky and can have a nicely varied loadout.

I think it's more that I'm too tempted to go full speed all the time and I have a bad habit of being the natural spearhead.

Medium mech armor + leading a push? Lol k maybe if you're fresh halfway through the game.

That's simply awesome.

I agree.

Though it's only in stock mode that I can realize its potential.

I mean it is better you lead the charge with lights than assaults and heavies lead the charge. That's how you lose serious firepower really early. Back when Oxides were a thing in MRBC, leading with them a tad early put range teams in a hard position if the Oxides managed to close the distance without taking too much damage (do I finish off the Oxides or do I deal with the bunch of baddies closing on me). That's in a coordinated environment though, in PUG queue this can often be you just pushing alone rather than leading a push which translates to one dead mech.

All that is very true, in PUGlandia, I found if you can read the ebb and flow of battle you can do surprisingly well for yourself in that environment.... I'm often the last one alive on my team, giving it my all, but I can't turn a 11:2 around.....

And why?

No I'm not asking what is the ubertier meta Gundam. I can look up metamechs.com, too.

But what is the mech, when you see it, be it on game, in your mechlab, whatever, that you just pause and think..... Man.. That thing is frikking cool.

(Correct answer is obviously Urbanmechs, but I need to gauge the level of Urbielightenment around here.....)

What an amazingly hard question to answer. The first time I saw the Marauder, I felt chills run down my spine, it had been removed from us for so, so long (same with the Warhammer). Both were so iconic, both take me back...However, the Timberwolf feels the same - I see Vlad fighting Phelan, the whole introduction of the clans (which I grew to love far more than freebirth scum (though the Grey Death will always be special).

Those are all special mechs (and you can add in the Mad Dog and the Summoner), due to them being Joanna's and Aiden's preferred mechs (and lets not forget Joanna used a Summoner to defeat Natasha in a Dire Wolf)...But you demanded one, and only one...

The first time we see Joanna in a mech is in Chapter 9 of Bloodname, "Joanna's Hellbringer was standing now," So that's it. It's the mech I would choose if I had to choose only one. It says Clan to me, it says Battletech...

And on that note can, PGI please include a hero Hellbringer, Joanna's was called "Ter" - there's your data, and throw in a pair of hanging spiked gloves.....

Nope. It's obviously all about my dazzling skill.

Really. I keep that 2 under my name just to remind me of my roots..... I'm really part of the super secret tier 0. Posted Image

I'm probably in the minority here but:
The Wolverine.
Posted Image Posted Image

I can't help myself. When the Phoenix pack came out, I was excited to try and venture into the Medium tonnages with the Shadow Hawk; definitely interested with the reinforcements of which the good ol' WLV was apart of. I could not afford that much $$ though, so I was just happy with my selection. I remember looking at it in the store after it came out and really liking how it looked. I asked my Merc-mates how it handled; they did their best to discourage me. Once it was released I had to try it, despite them bad mouthing it. I bought one WLV and one GRF, just to be fair. Here it is, year later, and I have all but the hero WLV, even fitting one in my FW deck, and still the one GRF.

I like the hands, I like the torso, I like the head, I like so much about it.
And it's been getting some real love recently:

Yes, they were stars on falconer gloves.

Due to old "lore" stories and very positive uses on the old TT game...

It is very difficult to have a first place, but if I were forced to pick a single mech...

SHC-B... my "desert island" mech... I even like the sound on powerup
ECM, fast, very jump capable...even the lore build is a 1000 damage class capable mech. Not a front line brawler...but can add to, and make a difference in, a fight. Scout, damage (unholy LRM build), omni layout can allow you (if you want to play a hard lore build) to multitask and refit to play different roles in a fight.

Or we can keep going for a hard pick...

The MAD DOG...
What do you want to do (beside take damage... not a tank)?

Ballistics? Missiles? Lasers? MDD can deliver. A bit of the "glass cannon" factor, but if you can work it, the MDD can take down an assault on a 1v1 in many cases.
Speed, firepower, AMS mounts. So long as you watch your facetime, it is a good mech.

Lots of opinions, this is just mine, and just my top 2...

Picking a mech is tough sometimes, what job are you trying to do?

Dragon.

Love having good games is this thing. the following picture is pretty much true to most dragon play, it's always running around on the field with pieces blown off. yet some how, its still in the game.
